London restaurants....
So, I was in London in October and asked a colleague there for a good restaurant recommendation. She recommended Wahaca in Covent Garden, which was done by someone who won the UK's version of Top Chef.
I got there. Ninety minute wait. I put my name there and killed some time.
I got in. It was packed with well-to-do London twentysomethings - half dates, half group outings. I ordered tortilla chips with guac, a chorizo and potato and a pork pibil quesadilla, and had mango sorbet for dessert.
The sorbet was great - really creamy. The chorizo and potato quesadilla was pretty good, too. The pork was average. The guac was OK, but the chips were stale. I spent about $25-30 for the meal and left being severely unimpressed.
Midway through, they started bringing out birthday cupcakes and everyone started singing "Happy Birthday". It reminded me exactly of Chi-Chis in the 1980s.
This is a long way of saying that, if Chipotle ever opens a store in London, they will make ten billion dollars in their first year.

That's your fault for eating anything but Wagama's when you were there. I lived off that for a semester

Never played diplomacy, but I'll tell you what is a vastly underrated game:
Civilization II (the WWII scenario). I'm pretty sure playing that game raised me as a child

Civ II was a great game. I could play that for hours. Another great series was Masters of Orion.

There was a Wagamama in Manhattan at one point, I think. It failed, right? I liked it when I went in London (never went to the NYC one) but to be honest, I don't really think it was all that special food-wise.

The biggest thing was that it was affordable in a city that puts NY to shame in terms of expense. The only decent cheap food readily available was Indian, but there was only so much of that I could eat. Wagamama, considering the price, was a steal. I lasted about 3 days with fish and chips and my arteries told me I had to find something else.

There's 3 Wagamama's in Boston. The one near Verizon will make a killing.

There's 3 Wagamama's in Boston. The one near Verizon will make a killing. Don't I know it- one of my coworkers always orders dinner from them when working late, and we all have to order off the same menu, so when he gets there first I am stuck with it. It ranks high on the titular list of this thread- no appeal whatsoever as a delivery product, at least.

What is keeping Chipotle out of the UK is beef prices. All the knock off Chipotle's (and when i say knock off i mean the took the chipotle sign down and put their name up and that was it) all charge the same price in pounds as chipotle does hear in dollar (i.e. a 6$ burrito is 6 pounds there), and they are smaller, pretty expensive. Chipotle, though, will pull a wal-mart and subsidize their UK stores with the profits from their US store until they eliminate the competition and then raise prices. they will make a fortune.
Another thing that is overrated is Fish and Chips in the UK (or at least in the bigger cities). I have had much better in New England than in Jolly Olde England.
What is underrated is Chips and cheese, though eating that more than once a year will make you heart turn to butter.

Underrated: Food in Sydney. You can get a big, decent quality steak and an entire plate of fries for $6.

Brazilian steakhouses: overrated or underrated? Discuss Overrated - it's just so gluttonous. There's not much point in paying a lot of money to have lots of steaks that are average as opposed to paying a little less to have one that's amazing.

Brazilian steakhouses: overrated or underrated? Discuss Underrated in advance. Overrated after about 15 minutes. Really overrated a couple of hours afterwards.

Brazilian steakhouses: overrated or underrated? Discuss Underrated in advance. Overrated after about 15 minutes. Really overrated a couple of hours afterwards. Absolutely agree. And also agree with the immediately preceding comment. Actually, I've found that, at the end of the day, a really great steak from great restaurant won't cost that much more than a Brazilian place, and ends up costing the same. Along the same lines as a Brazilian steakhouse -- strip clubs, overrated or underrated? Discuss.

I mean i've only been to Fago De chao once and I thought it was pretty amazing. The key is to doggy bag a lot of crap out of there.
