IMO you take Armardi if you can get him, long guys who can rebound don't grow on trees......anyone have any info as to where we are on him compared with OU and OK St.?

That's Pat Jr. coming out of high school all over again. Funny. My first thought went straight to the description of Vernon coming out of high school. Sounded eerily familiar. To translate all those words into a single concept: he's athletic but has to develop some skills.

ha - wasn't pulling your leg. Just trying to be optimistic! (didn't see some of the comments that were prompted by mine the other day, or I would have cleared it up then).
Anyway, I'll take the "commitment" from Monroe and be happy... for now.

To translate all those words into a single concept: he's athletic but has to develop some skills. I'm guessing that Vernon was much more highly rated coming out of high school than this kid is (Mickey D and all). Which perhaps speaks volumes about the accuracy of the ratings.

I think that if we get Brandon Thompson and Latavious Williams, this class will be set.

I said this on another thread, but I don't think we're getting williams....no insight here, but my feeling is that if he wanted to come here, he'd have already given us a commitment.

Well, he hasn't given a commitment to anyone else either, so Memphis must be saying the same thing. The kid is trying to get qualified. Let's see what happens after that.

I never really understand this line of thinking in situations like these. I mean, personally i don't think he will end up here either, but wouldn't the same apply for Memphis and Baylor, who have been on him much longer? Its not like hes waiting for a scholarship from someone. I think he is just waiting to see if he qualifies before commiting.

That's my take. I think he's just waiting on qualifying news. If Memphis and GU are the finalists, it wouldn't be too surprising -- both schools have a few extra schollies and can wait a bit longer into the signing period.
If you were him, and these schools were willing to wait, why commit now and have to deal with having them announce a non-qualifying score later? This lets him figure things out on his own time-table -- I don't blame him.

Somebody is definitely visiting this weekend- I work at Tombs and a bunch of people from the athletic department came in for what they told us was a "recruiting" lunch yesterday. There was only one kid who looked remotely the right age, and I thought someone referred to him as Troy, but after looking through some of the recruiting lists I'm thinking that's probably not right. In any case, he tried to order a sweet tea so we figured he must be from the south. PE2 stopped by for a while to talk to him as well.
