Per Jack's request.
So, what does everyone think so far?
Four pretty [bleep] good episodes of Sunny so far this season, if you ask me.
The kickoff episode of the season has clearly been the highlight though. The next three have been good, but not as good as that. Charlie & Dee searching for human meat and Mac & Dennis hunting Cricket is as good or better than when Dennis & Dee got addicted to crack. (very similar stories in both episodes, obviously, but hilarious nevertheless).

I thought the last episode was great. No Frank and no Dee. More like the first season. The rest have been pretty good too.

Off to a great start, though I thought "The Gang Solves the Energy Crisis" (Episode 2) was the best so far. I am also liking the more frequent Charlie/Dee pairing- they play off each other really well. Good interview with the shows creators last week on the Onion AV Club: www.avclub.com/content/interview/its_always_sunny_inLast night's first episode was gold, but in the second there was no Frank, no Dee, and really no subplot (unless you count the pretty lame Mac/Project Badass).

Before we go any further, I think we should decide who will be the brains/looks/muscle/wild card of this thread. Otherwise it's just not going to go right.
Also -- serious question -- who the hell was the looks in Ghostbusters?

Also -- serious question -- who the hell was the looks in Ghostbusters? Brains: Egon, obviously The other 3 are up for debate. The A-Team is the more obvious paradigm. In some way, I feel like Peter Venkman has to be the looks, as he was the only one who had a romantic interest and he was clearly a womanizer. But he also had most of the Wild Card characteristics. Ray wasn't much of a Wild Card, though he did dream up the Stay Puft Marshallow man, so that probably counts. And Winston, for lack of anything else to define him, must be the muscle. And with that analysis, I either classify myself as the Brains or the Muscle(head) of this thread.

In Ghostbusters 2, Ray turned evil for a second and then got shot with happy goo to make him....ummmm...well you know. That could make him like a wildcard.

obviously the roles are based on self-description from Hoyas games and in our avatars based on the A Team and totally within our social group.
Brains = Hannibal = hoyatables Wildcard = Murdoc = DrumsGoBang (his Mr T avatar makes him more wildcard-ier) Looks = Templeton Peck = Coast2CoastHoya Muscle = B.A. Baracus = bando
Always Sunny has been exceptional this season.

I almost cried when Frank bolted in, housed the catfood, and laid down w/out a word.

Personally, I love the fact that everything Charlie does makes perfect sense...to Charlie. (and, increasingly, to Frank as well).
I would never to so far as to call this show "smart." After all, they spent an entire episode making one joke over and over, simply because "poop is funny" (which, of course, it is).
But I'm always interested in each of the characters' own unique brand and depth of insanity. And they all are, more or less, insane in one way or another.
(and who would have thought Sinbad and Rob Thomas would be funny?)

Also, Sweet Dee does some amazing work with fake dry heaves. Emmy worthy.

Someone at the Celtics-Bulls game Friday night (10/31) was wearing the Green Man suit and got on the jumbotron dancing like a mad man. It was twice as funny for the 35 of us there who actually watch Sunny. Pepe Silvia got the joke.
