Yes, lic, we are too old to understand. Actually, I have known the term for several years from my son. It is the point in the life of some entity, usually a TV show that the show goes south. I think the term originated with an episode of Happy Days (EDIT: I did not see NODAK's link to the actual program) where there was a scene involving water skiing and they jumped over a shark. Consequently, the show soon after that met its demise. I could be wrong on all the details, but that is the gist of it. See the web site that started the phrase: www.jumptheshark.com. Originated by Jon Hein (formerly a VP at the Princeton Review, now a host on Sirius Radio.--Admin

So just cause Buff claimed to have used us all, you all go soft? Weak.
I was consulted before the threads inception and played the proverbial Fayed in his little plot. I planted a few dirty bombs and reveled in the fallout. Good times.
Some of you seem concerned or even afraid of Buff. What is he you might ask? Having been Buff's friend, or what tonydeals refers to as "editeds" (to him they are apparently synonymous) for many years I can honestly say that he is a brave little man who I believe will make us all proud when he finds the edge of the internet. He is our Christopher Columbus our Captain Cook. Despite the paralysis. Despite the bad days, he is a dreamer. Huzzah!
He is also from Buffalo, loves everything Sabres and Billsian. In other words, of course he is uncomfortable with success. He is genetically predisposed to failure and myopia.

I don't see how anyone could be afraid of Buff. From 'Bridge's posts, he seems to be a pencil-necked geek who lives in his parents' basement.

True, if you can imagine a slightly less mobile Steven Hawkin with about 1/1,000,000,000th of the mental capacity...that's pretty much BuffaloHoya. Excellent EverQuest player though. Pitiful? Yes. Frightening? Not really.

And, don't forget, that while Buff may be riding high now, after the Sabres fail in their quest for the Stanley Cup, he'll once again be a shell of a man.

Fatthew - That 2-story Colonial is actually in Cheektowaga, thankyouverymuch.
SF - Pencil necked? No. Geek? Probably. Parents basement? Never... my mother always kept my room in a Ray Finkle-like state of suspended animation.
'Bridge - Still can't understand the obsession with placing me in a paralyzed or near-catatonic state, poking a keyboard with a pencil stuck in my mouth. I think you have some weird Crash-like fetish you need to explore. And we're talking Cronenberg Crash, not "I can't believe they cast Ryan Phillipie AND Ludacris in a serious role" Crash.
Is EverQuest like Dungeons and Dragons?
StPete - Not bald... yet. My Messier moment is only a few years off.
TBird - I won't be a shell of a man if/when they lose. After all, as 'Bridge mentioned, I expect disappointment somewhere down the line. I'm from Buffalo. Norwood? No Goal? Music City Miracle? Hellooooo???
And finally, tonydeals - sorry to disappoint, but the fact this was a bet was known by quite a few people before the thread went up. I asked all three mods to let it ride until it got out of hand or went too off-topic, and I had numerous posters read a "draft" of the post before it went up. Wrong again, tough guy.

Buff, excellent use of Cronenberg's Crash. Probably the most uncomfortable movie ever. Did someone present that in our Horror Films class or was it in another one? And yes, we did take a class on Horror Films. I wrote 30 pages on Evil Dead II. As for my repeated references to you physical state. We both know that if I continue reminding everyone that you are paralyzed from the neck down, one day they'll all be overjoyed to see you walk into a bar. That's called lowering expectations.

Kurt Russell might not be the best actor ever, but he's in some sweetass flicks.

I considered changing my name to Stuntman Mike in honor of his performance.

... who's son Boston is CO'02 btw)... Which is how I met him. Boston and I had a bunch of classes together. Nice kid. His dad was cool, too. Pretty down to Earth "bought" me a beer... good times, that Senior Ball... at least what I remember.

Well, by danced I mean I embarassed myself while she filmed it on her camcorder and humored me. It was one of the great disappointments in life that Kate Hudson was not there. Cause, obviously I had a chance with her.

Based on the last few posts, methinks Buffalo went double-or-nothing on whether this thread would reach 16 pages.

How could you all be talking about things like this when we could be talking about facilities and the level or permissible speculation allowed on the board in the off-season?

Good point St. Pete.
I speculate that Kate Hudson would have allowd me to greatly renovate her facilities had she attended the senior ball.

Forget Kate Hudson.
Now that she's back on the market I am drawing up strategic plans for a renovation of Kate Middleton's facilities.
Did anyone notice how Buff got a little more quite after acknowledging his coming baldness? Buy that man a minivan and a milkshake.

Good ol' FOIA. Makes life interesting for everyone, and ensures that lawyers mired in endless hours of document review will occassionally come across something mildly spicy.

According to my interviews, no associate ever does document review ... and partners wouldn't lie ... Absolutely not. And if you're going through the interview process now, you MUST watch this week's How I Met Your Mother. I'm pretty sure you can watch it for free on the web.
