hoyasox... i think we should perform together during halftime tomorrow. i was thinking an interpretative dance to "Rio" Chinatown, you say this like it's something that we've never done before... or that we practice all the time...

Chinatown, are you implying that I dont go to games? What have I said that would leave you to believe that? I agree with you, students that dont go to games and criticize those that do are lame. I think for living in NYC, 5 hoya home games this year and 3 away games is a decent amount. Fair enough. The tone of your post sounded in the words of YB "elitist." Hoyasox... you weren't supposed to let out the secret. I've already contacted the dept and I'm in the process of selecting a date for our performance. I don't know if you board members know, but Hoyasox and I are 5 time world champions.

I don't think we're going to make 15 pages . . . it's just too much to ask, unfortunately. And since I was baited, yeah, I have season tickets too, and love to cheer on the Hoyas, and I don't drink at games. But maybe if I had . . . Actually, you know what I'd like? Another performance at a halftime next year by the ballroom dance team, but one that kicks ass this time instead of leaving us scratching our heads and laughing. One worthy of the Hoyas team that will win the BE regular season next year. And while I'm at it, I'm wishing that they drop the "Dress Like a Hoya" contest and replace it with something better for the little kids, and easier for them to do. (this sure beats doing real work on a Friday afternoon)

I think after all this, there HAS to be a return engagement for the ballroom dance team on next year's schedule, right?

Is this thread giving anyone else the same feeling you used to get in college when you'd been drinking all night and then you look at your watch and suddenly realize the sun's about to rise?
No? Nobody? It's just me? Well, the sun rises when this thing hits 10 pages!!!!
Who's with me?
Now is the time on Shprockets when we dance.

Bando, are you from the Island? (LIE exit 51 reporting in here!) I knew there was a reason we were seeing eye to eye. :-) Let the epithets roll tomorrow! Exit 66. Strong Island represent, yo. My brother ended up going to Crapacuse, despite my many pleas to reconsider, so I'll have plenty of reasons to break out the f@#$ing curse words for those mother@#$@ing a$#muching goat@#$5ing Orange.

Again, may I suggest that the quality of this thread inspire someone with more time and computer skills to construct a "Best Of" area on this webpage and, without delay, add this thread to that area. This is great.
If we all pull as a team, we can get this to 10 pages by tip-off.
Heave....

Gentlemen (and Lady) - Someday, when we are very old, we will tell our grandchildren about the day(s) we spent participating in the "Ballroom Dancing? Charlie Daniels Band?" thread. This type of entertainment comes along only very rarely. Savor it.
I have just perused it again myself, and came upon this, my favorite post of the thread, written by michiganhoya:
"YB -- Let me first congratulate you for being about as ultra sensitive as I would imagine a ballroom dancing coach would be."
I am still laughing.

I'm hoping this takes us to page 9.
Will someone please let me know when next year's ballroom dancing halftime show is so I can fly in from San Diego to see it. If I'm enjoying this thread without seeing the performance, I can only imagine...
EDIT: Doh!

Seriously, who else thinks the cheerleaders look like eighth graders!?!?!? By the way, can somebody tell the squad that dancing "suggestively" only turns-on the pedophiles.
* * *
If nobody supports my effort to get our own dance contest, may I suggest another performance inspired by the Navy half-time:
1. Get a small boy from the crowd, make sure his name is Henry. 2. Blindfold him and give him a sack. 3. Spread ping-pong balls marked with dollar amounts around the court. 4. Turn on some music and let him him crawl around the court stuffing balls in his sack.
Pure genius I say, pure genius.
