Is Father King still alive and teaching? I know they pulled his mass a few years ago. Yeah, he teaches Problem of God, among other things.

I guess this is sort of finals related.
A guy on my floor went streaking across campus tonight. He started in the Southwest quad breezeway, ran up the steps onto Harbin patio, then went across campus towards the library, came straight at the entrance to the library where a huge crowd was waiting to see it and then turned and ran down along Village A back to the quad.
Hilarious to see, and talk about a brave guy, hahaha.

First off, I have no recollection of the events in One's post. That doesn't mean they aren't true.
Second, as someone with experience picking the "right" classes, I would have to recommend (and I have no idea what the professor's name was) "Class Fictions in Contemporary America." May not sound like a blast, but for an A- I wrote my final paper on the Flaming Mo's and Lisa Plays Hockey episodes of the Simpsons.
Also did a presentation on the movie Star Maps. One of my weirder moments.

OK, it's not on the level of Tbird's or FormerHoya's drunken final exam adventures, but I had an interesting, basketball-related experience turning in my political theory take home final today. I stroll into my professor's office in ICC, exactly at the 5pm deadline. As soon as I walk in my professor asks me, "Hey, where's the blue hair?" I laugh and explain that I only wear it to basketball games. Then we got into a discussion about how we thought the Hoyas would do in the Big East. He was at the San Jose State game over the weekend and thought that our offense needed some work, and that we still don't have a big guy. I mentioned Green and said that Hibbert is still getting there. He described his experience at a Georgetown-UVA game a couple years ago and how he was disappointed that there were more UVA fans than Gtown fans there. He also thought MCI was just way too big. I said we should be on our way back up fanswise with the closing of the upper deck at MCI and hopefully our winning. He closed by telling me to keep cheering hard and hopefully he'd see me at a couple games in the spring.
Not a big deal, but just goes to show that some faculty, the objects of our ire most of the time, still in fact care about Hoya basketball much like the rest of us.

Not a big deal, but just goes to show that some faculty, the objects of our ire most of the time, still in fact care about Hoya basketball much like the rest of us. That UVA game was a lot of fun despite being on December 20th which was effectively the dead-last day of finals that year, and 3 days after my last one. Both teams were still very highly ranked at the time, I want to say we were still top 15 but I can't recall. UVA was higher before their great collapse that year. A lot more GTown students showed up than you'd think, it was a pretty full student section. But the UVA fans did out number us by a lot--it was like looking into a solid wall of orange. Although they must have had some kind of ticket-sharing split arranged--it was the final of the John Thompson Classic after all, and the GU student section was on the opposite side of the court than it normally is, over by the press. Some of us chatted with Michael Wilbon before the game as I recall. Maddening game too--I have it on tape somewhere, I think in the second half we had something like 7 or 8 chances with the ball to cut into a 4 point deficit and we NEVER did. But it was still worth it to stay late and see a pretty good game. More professors and university folk than you think pay attention to the basketball team. Some who will remain nameless (rhymes with "Dean of Admissions Charles Deacon") have even been seen on ESPN Classic footage taunting Jim Boeheim at the Cap Center. It'd be cool to set them up with some Kurt Shirts.

I CANNOT STUDY!!!! I have 2 finals on Monday but the fact that 4/5 of the students have already gone home, which makes it feel like the semster is over and there is so much college basketball on TV is completely destroying my attempts to study! AHHHHHHHH!!!

I feel the same way. My last final is tomorrow morning... AND I CANNOT CONCENTRATE. Football, College BBall and the fact that the entire campus is empty is throwing me off.
Honestly, is there anything weirder than campus when no one is around? It just feels weird-kinda gives me a "survivor of the apocolypse" type feel.

Since when did the finals week spread out into two (or 1.2 weeks)? I really feel for you guys. Take advantage of all that time to study and ace those exams. When I was going to GU, exams were scheduled for after Christmas, so imagine what that does to your vacation with papers, projects, and studying to do over the holidays.

That would be horrible. They still do that at Harvard. It doesn't really make a lot of sense in my opinion. I would forget everything over break.

My last exam is tomorrow morning, and it's been killing me to still be here. I sympathize with 007, I haven't been able to study either. It has nothing to do with sports though - I just have undiagnosed attention deficit issues. Like, for instance, with an exam in 13.5 hours, I'm posting on a talkboard. Eh, grades are overrated.

that scenario that you guys are talking about reminds me of 28 days later - really good and scary flick...relate this to hoya basketball how?
if the campus is 4/5 empty that means there is a good chance that the hoops team in in sunny honolulu right now, getting lei'd. clear those heads and take down ORU tomorrow - go hoyas!

My problems also stem from undiagnosed ADD. The sports are how I choose to not focus on my homework ;D

By now its probably like 90% empty, and the team better be in Hawaii at this point!
I agree with the "survivor of the apocalypse" feeling.
My concentration problems are also undiagnosed ADD, but the fact that sports are on makes it all that easier to procrastinate and have an excuse for it ;D.
Why does Sunday Night Football have to be on right now!!?? AHHHHH!!!

Plan for the weekend: -Online Criminology final -5-page Kosovo paper for Ethics & IR due Monday -3-page Iraq paper for Ethics & IR due Monday
What actually happened: -Big Lebowski drinking game Friday night -Kentucky vs. Louisville -Wake Forest vs. Texas -Arizona vs. Marquette -Skip friend's X-Mas Party to work on paper Sat night, but end up watching Zags-G Tech and staring at computer til 5am -Eagles vs. Cowboys -Packers vs. Jaguars -Screw up big time on my online Criminology final -Currently Colts vs. Ravens
Still to do: -5-page Kosovo paper -3-page Iraq paper -Pack -Make it to my 3:40pm flight out of Dulles
Tonight's gonna be fun. Good look to all "survivors" remaining on the Hilltop, including myself, I'm gonna need it.
