Creepy needs a sip of his Diet Coke! Do we know that can's not actually filled with gin? Or paint?

Marquette not exactly putting this game away. I guess they must be destined for an early exit, too! Where's your article, ESPN?

Also, congratulations to USF on its second Big East win. It has now beat the league's best team and the league's worst team ... and no one in between. WE'RE NOT ALONE ANYMORE! /collapses weeping

But let Pitt come back and win. Wildly inconsistent. While they've beaten the top teams in the conference, they've also lost to SHU. Wildly inconsistent. And lost to Providence twice (and that's just Big East play; there's also the bad loss to Columbia, and the increasingly suspect losses to La Salle and 'Bama). As a BE team going forward, we want Nova to be a successful program and to make the tournament, but that doesn't mean we need to do them any favors here. Take care of business on the road Wednesday, then 2 days of watching Die Hard in the run-up to Saturday. Actually I'm gonna go get started on that second part now.

I know we're supposed to be pulling for ND over Marquette because it helps our BE RS margin, but I just can't help but root for our BE brethren (and future #1 rival?).

ESPN doesn't have anything specific to Henry, but this discussion of the Hornets' lack of front court indicates they were going to make a move:

Thank you. Exactly what I was about to post in that inane, 2-man thread in the Pro & Coll board. It's great that Benimon is playing well for Benimon, but no one should be confused for one minute that his statistical success against a down-CAA is the same as playing well in the Big East. Well, he sure gave the Hoyas a tough game. Besides his numbers are too good to ignore regardless of the conference he is in. Would he put up stats like that in the Big East? Proably not. But Damian Lillard may not have put up as good stats as well if he had played in the Big East. Doesn’t make him any lesser a player. Damian Lillard wasn't a 6'7" turnover-prone, low-percentage-shooting power forward. If you wanted Benimon instead of Otto, just say so; you clearly have made the argument in your own head.

Ah I dont get that. I just think Benimon was a product of being held back in our type of offense. Good for him though Benimon has always done well vs inferior competition. He had monster stats at Winchester high school. The CAA is an inferior league now, especially without VCU and Larranaga gone from George Masn. Benimon still averages 3.8 turnovers a game which is extremely high for a forward. So I'm not convinced that he can play well vs elite level competition. Good for him though. Sometimes you need playing time to increase your value to play professionally in Europe. Just look at Omar Wattad at Tennessee-Chatanooga and now playing pro in Europe. Thank you. I'm happy for Benimon that he's enjoying success.

I'll repeat my question here because this thread will get a lot of eyeballs: anyone know last time (if ever) Hoyas got back-to-back 30 pt games from two different players? Saw on twitter that the last time was '96 with Iverson/Page (I think)

44 pages and not 1 post complaining that JT3 didn't put Aaron Bowen into the rotation despite his dunks against DePaul. Progress indeed. 44 pages and not 1 post complaining that JT3 didn't put Aaron Bowen into the rotation despite his dunks against DePaul. Progress indeed. No. As exciting as Bowen is - and as much as I want to see him get the opportunities to continue to develop - at this point he still lacks the handle to break the press 'Cuse was throwing at us and the consistency in his outside shot to keep them honest in their zone. III was correct to not play him due to these factors. This cause the Hoyas won...also lets face it..Markel and DSR struggled. I think Aaron Bowen could have at least spelled either one of them for about 3 to 4 minutes yesterday.

Marcus Smart doing a better Mikael impression than Mikael ever has, picking up 3 fouls in 3:09. You mean Moses Well, Moses doesn't start, but I agree with you on foul/minute ratio. Was thinking of the Mikael game recently with 3 fouls before the second TV timeout. We're both right!

Speaking of CBS, I'm watching the SC/UGA game and the reception is atrocious. Tried both HD and standard. I hope this isn't station-wide (or a Comcast problem - only freaking channel doing this!) and is fixed when it counts.

January 14, 2009 - Georgetown 88, Syracuse 74
Nikita Mescheriakov enters the game for two minutes. During that span he shoots 2-for-2 from 3 AND hurts Andy Rautins.
After that, I was able to view Nikita - and his many many flaws - through rosier colored glasses.
