Five minutes in and I’m falling in love with James Akinjo.
Giving Anthony Cowan fits.

Can’t remember the last time I saw this many people at a KL game.
A lot of kids with all eyes on Mac.

About how you expect. Iffy handling the ball but can square up and nail it from deep. Quick release. Nothing’s changed.

Omer Yurtseven really needs a year just to get stronger. Not an unknown since we’ve seen what he brings to the table but he’s been getting worked in the paint. Who is he working against? Is Antwan playing the 4 or 5? Some dude from NC&T. Twan played a lot on the perimeter. Tried to pound the air out of the ball a little too much for my taste. Really sloppy game overall.

One name to check out: Osun Osunniyi. La Salle decommit center. Did a PG year at Putnam. I’d take him in a heartbeat.

I’ll actually be surprised if Mac and Akinjo isn’t the starting backcourt from Day 1. Take Akinjo out, put in Jagan and let Mac play point until Akinjo replaces him.
Wash, rinse, repeat.

Ouch. Scratch the 1st name off the list of GU target "bigs". (I don't count the Mitchells) If Orr doesn't deliver Khalil Whitney, very difficult to understand his value to the coaching staff... I completely understand his value to the coaching staff but he can coach and not be one of three tasked with being on the road.

This is sooooo great for the Big East. I’m so happy right now. I don’t know what to do with myself. Hope they do it again next year. This was sarcasm by the way.

We’ve had this discussion in other threads, but I think this would be a terrible rule and create mass chaos. And one point I don’t think gets mentioned enough is that it would also be bad for a large portion of players. Essentially right now the players and the coaches are disincentivized from transferring/pursuing transfers due to the one year waiting period. You take that away and cutthroat coaches will pushing out even more of their role players/bench players or even some solid contributors for the shiny new object on someone else team. Many HS kids will be promised the world by a coach and then pushed out the next year, and I predict a lot of guys will end up not getting their degree because of this. Yes coaches can technically do this now (and it happens to some degree) but it is curtailed becaused they end having to expend an empty scholarship year and you don’t get the immediate gratification on the upcoming season’s team which is what coaches are focused on. Take that away and suddenly it’s open season on pushing out those guys out, and it further hurts a school like Gtown that generally tries to do right by anyone that joins the family. And another odd twist is that if students with only 3.0 grade average are eligible for this, the university is now incentivized to have players not making that average so that they can’t transfer without a waiting period which is a massive conflict of interest. A Power-Five assistant who is recruiting one of my players said this exact same thing.

If the rumors about Felton are true, no thanks. I don’t care how talented he is.

With the roster next season, this team can have the luxury of redshirting a big kid just like this. I know nothing of him, but it fits that kind of profile and that thought process would be very helpful moving forward. Agreed.

Had a local coach tell me the other day Coach Ewing is keeping up with Daniel Oladapo. Will more than likely take a prep year, but he knows Georgetown is intrigued.

FWIW, Jalek Felton PG withdrew from UNC yesterday and Jerry Meyer popped his crystal ball for Hagans to UNC. I hope we go after Felton if Hagans decides to go to UNC. If the rumors are true, no way.

The only thing I’ve learned reading this thread is that the ignore function doesn’t work on mobile devices.
