Perhaps the only way for him to save face is to take a "leave of absence." No timeline to be given for his return.

Given the dynamic displayed by the coaches at last night’s program, I think Ewing will be delegating a lot of prep to Nickleberry and Crouch. Baldwin was not present. Not sure what that was about. Pretty sure there will still be a lot of in-game calls to rebound and move.
Coach Pat’s vague-ish response regarding the status of all the new players’ eligibility was somewhat encouraging but not definitive.
Howze (?) and Ronnie Thompson were front and center greeting folks at the start of the event.
My take away was the staff’s optimism that the new personnel on the team will be able to compete during winning time which may not have been the case last year. They pointed out how we were not able to win close games last year. Improved recruiting was a consistent message last evening.

Let us restrict access, freedom, and movement to places of leisure, worship, and learning, but let us not restrict access to weapons designed to destroy and kill.
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... not at the expense of our AR-15's.

What are the equivalents of cancer warning labels and the attitude towards secondhand smoke when applied to guns?

Ways to get involved and support an end to children being killed in their classrooms, shoppers in their grocery stores, people in their parks, movie theaters, street festivals, places of worship, malls, subways, workplaces, hotels, homes, and neighborhoods. www.sandyhookpromise.org/www.bradyunited.org/momsdemandaction.org/giffords.org/www.csgv.org/www.everytown.org/These are a few of many. Some people have time, others have money to donate, others have ideas and organizing skills -- whatever you have to help in even a small way, do it. Share these links, start the conversations, make connections, join others, use your voice -- the only way we lose is if we don't try. #StopGunViolence. #ProtectOurKids Thank you for providing this list. My wife and I have been going back and forth all weekend on figuring out ways to contribute to changing the culture of guns and violence in this country.

Whatever happened to buying the world a Coke? So, you're saying kill them slowly instead? Unless they have the coke with a mentos. The freshmaker.

As horrible as the Holocaust was, it could have been worse.

And if more teachers are killed because of the chaos spawned by arming educators in an active shooter situation, it will be nothing more than just acceptable collateral damage for people who do not see the lunacy of the "more good guns to combat bad guns argument."

Apparently, bad people with guns and body armor can only be stopped by good people with guns and body armor organized into a specialized tactical attack unit. How long did it take trained professionals to neutralize a lone 18-year old gunman?
I suppose teachers just need additional training for firearm and body armor use along with defensive tactical protocols. Maybe an afternoon during the summer is enough along with their compulsory training for diversity, equality, and inclusion?
Arm the teachers? Why not arm the students? But let's be reasonable here - only the students who are 18 years and older should be allowed to carry firearms to school. We are not that gun crazy! The younger ones shouldn't be allowed to - yet.

This is a battle for the soul of our nation. It is a culture war not waged between conservatives and liberals, but a conflict between those who espouse Americanism versus those fighting to preserve a democratic system of government in America.
I use the term Americanism to refer to an ideology of patriotism based narrowly on identity and geography. Americanism is a form of tribalism where the system of government is irrelevant when defining national loyalties and culture. Many of Trump’s supporters view patriotism in this lens, and so have no difficulty embracing Trump’s authoritarian approach to governance. Democratic institutions such as an independent legislative body, an impartial justice department, a science-based public health system, and an unsullied electoral process are hindrances and are disposable if they do not conform to the “national” agenda as defined by the ruling authority. A transition into a dictatorial form of government would not seem inconsistent, and in fact, would seem fitting to those who support this ideology.
What these people do not appreciate is that the American identity is founded on democratic ideals upon which these vital institutions are essential and necessary. If we do not preserve their existence, relevance, and vitality, we forfeit the opportunity and promise to become that shining city on the hill striving to form a more perfect Union.
This election will reveal how far we have come or how far we have strayed from what the framers dreamt we could be as a nation.

Joe calls a 9:45 am press lid on the day his son’s emails about introducing him to Ukraine/Burisma people go public. Saddest part is I sincerely believe Joe has no recollection of those meetings. There is neither humor nor guile in this statement. It is quite simply brutish.

Truly an inspirational figure, a jurist of historic significance... How to honor her legacy? Rest in power, Justice Ginsburg.

Just curious if the questions raised by the "conservatives" on this board are just attempts at being contrarian (perhaps humorous) or are these issues that will truly factor into how they will vote in November?

The apt analogy would be if a doctor purposefully concealed a fatal diagnosis from a patient because she did not want the patient to feel bad or to panic. But hey, being a doctor is a hard job.

The only spin that will help Trump now is one so vigorous that it opens up a hole in the time-space continuum that allows him to travel to an alternate dimension - to the reality of an ever Trumper.
