The entire team is in a fog. Reminds me of a JT3 game.

For all the heat he took, Golan’s presence is missed. Golan ha ha.

Did anyone hear Justine Ward is leaving her sideline duties for Uconn. I guess she’s too busy doing the thread.

What does Steph Curry have to do with Pitt??? That’s a junk show move. Long time lurker here. Decided to make an account after I did a little research. Jason Richards is on the Pitt staff and played with Curry at Davidson. Jason is getting married this weekend and Steph is in town for that. Capel also is really close with Quinn Cook who he coached in college so Capel may know Curry through Cook. Wow. Great reporting! Glad u decided to post!

The current group of Hoyas is my favorite group since the final four kids. I feel very positive we can land this kid. I think we ha e a lot of program momentum. We have the right coach, a solid and charismatic sophomore class. With some health we’re back in the ncass this year and with some recruiting luck elite 8 the following year. Go hoyas!

Too much Iverson and not enough Page at the end of that game. Paige was playing so well in the game and tournament.

I finally found the guts to re watch the 1996 UConn vs Georgetown big east tournament game last night. When I watched it live I was a junior in high school and being a CT resident I remember being devastated that we lost to a wacky Ray Allen shot put heave from the foul line. As you can imagine I took a lot of BS from all the UConn fans at my school!
Watching it back now with the perspective of time we clearly had the better team, we controlled the whole second half except when we went into a 1-4 stall set and put the game in AIs hands except running the team offense we ran the whole game. I guess you can’t blame JT for putting the game in the hands of a generational talent. What I did forget was the last second lay up that Jerome Williams missed that would have won the game.
That second half we really played ahead of our time. Lots of drive and kick, a good amount of threes, pressure defense. It’s amazing what you can do when u have what 4 NBA players in the team plus victor Paige that was playing like a should be future NBA Star.
I miss that team and those guys. The mutombo and Zo teams started my love for this program then we quickly went into the AI teams. It was a shame we had to wait so long for the next run with Sapp, hibbert, summers, etc. I was so disappointed in the freeman, Wright, sims, lubick etc teams. Finally I feel like our next group is here. With coach Ewing leading the way. This current edition can be special. Future looks bright. Ok I got all that off my chest. Thank u

Watching film of Gardner, Ledlum and Shannon you can easily envision a line-up with a 6'10" rim protector, two small speedy forwards with great handles and two speedy guards (McClung and Akinjo). Run, run, run, run, run like a sonuvagun to an NCAA championship. Speed kills! For some sick, masochistic reason, I recently re-watched the 1996 BE finals game against UConn. One key take-away for me was how quick up the floor Iverson and Page played the game. And Jerome Williams as a PF rebounding and leading the break with a great handle was a real weapon. We had a lot of speed on that team and it certainly killed most opponents (unfortunately, not UConn that night...still hurts...)… That game ripped my heart out! Didn’t Ray Allen hit a turn around jump at the foul line to win the game or some chit like that?!?
