Dickinson would be tremendous. A season changing, perhaps even program altering recruit. But he's the #1 recruiting target in the country right now, and we've gone 2-38 the past two years. I don't realistically expect to land him, and failing to do so is not an indictment on Cooley. Not having a good back up option would be the error.

The new reality of college ball recruiting is so strange. There is, effectively, a salary cap or budget for the NIL deals, but fans have no idea what that number is. Likewise, players are eating up various percentages of that number, but we have no visibility into that. It's like being a fan of an NFL team, but if all of the contracts were a state secret!

Have Nerlens Noel vibes about the Dickinson recruitment. Hope I'm wrong.

That lineup consists of zero players who were above average starters last year. Epps was pretty good at Illinois last year. Akok with a better coach than Ewing is an above average starter. Dickinson is a potential 1st team All-American. Not counting my Chickinsons before they hatch.

Providence fans are trash; I'm glad they're upset. Hoya Saxa.

From the PC Board - "12 years of positives down the toilet in 30 days. Lied to his players, lied to his administrators, lied to the fans, lied to the City and State. We Us Together Family Friars: Turned out to be another lie. Be them dudes. Be them dudes. Should now be BE THEM DUPES BE THEM DUPES. directed at all of us for falling for this schtick that he threw at us. Never saw a guy mail in the last month of the season as he concocted his escape out of town. Kids found out and realized that they had been duped as well. it was all bull." Somebody call the Waaahhmbulance.

Great first impression. Now let's get to work, there's a LOT of work to do.

This roster is hardly overflowing with talent. If we can keep a guy like Murray that has proven he can be an impactful piece at the high major level, we should do it.

I expect to be competitive next season and to be in the tournament the following season. This is top 5 money we're paying, we should expect at least top 20 level performance.

I truly don't believe any Hoya fan or alum can possibly care that we were negotiating with Cooley prior to this weekend. This is how D1 high major athletics works. This is a multi-million dollar business. Seriously, grow up.

If Pitino was not available and interested, Cooley would be universally viewed as a home run hire. The fact that he is, and is now going to a traditional rival, complicates those feelings to an extent.
That said, this is a HUGE step in bringing this program back from the dead, and a happy one as a Georgetown fan and alum.

Why not? It’s perfectly plausible that we hired a search firm after dismissing Coach Ewing, the firm identified Coach Cooley as a potential candidate, and we reached out through the proper channels once Providence’s season was over. Why do you need to wait until the season is over when you’re contacting the AD or president of the peer school? Why couldn’t Gtown have called PC the day they figured out they wanted to interview Cooley and say we plan on reaching out to your coach once your season is over? Pretty sure that’s what the PC AD is complaining about While I understand why the PC AD may be annoyed, the idea that any Georgetown alum and/or fan may care about this process story is crazy to me.

If this is the case, I don't want someone who would not be standup: Come on man, look at the guy's timeline. All he does is post fake news.

The only "ick factor" I care about is going 2-38 the past two years. If Cooley is the coach, I hope he poaches all the talent needed to start winning immediately.

If Cooley stays at Providence and this admin still doesn't reach out to Pitino....
