"instead of slamming the ball in from one foot away he decided to slowly put up a layup attempt"" he screws up on the easy ones." Roy and Greg both need to improve on this, huh?

what is also nice is (despite the occasional careless fouls) the starters continue to play relatively tough D despite the lack of a bench...they and JTIII have found a way to not sacifice the D despite the need to keep our offensive weapons on the floor.

UNC was missing their best player in Ed Davis for the game, and WF is a decent team. Not a huge surprise they lost, but they can be a good team but will need to develop as a team over the next few months.

also liked that Clark hit some big 3pt shots and has been doing regularly over the last several games. Good consistent 3pt shooting will really help this team and something that lacked last yr (too bad Chris' outside shot was off this game from the getgo..)

Great game...Blair almost had the offensive putback to win the game. Memories of his games against GU come back (shudder)...

Temple, Duke, Harvard, Washington, Butler all have varying shots to win their conferences/conference tournaments (as does Old Dominion)... opportunity to have beaten the winner of five conferences (plus BE oppnents) and have a loss to another conference champion in OD. That would be an interesting resume should decent play in conference occur.

Nova games alwasy seems to be a foul fest at least as long as Scottie has been on the team - with 0 assists looks like he tried to to shoot from outside/drive it in for fouls. I think we always have had this issue with them it just resulted in close games with foul shots being important (JWall and the 'phantom' out of bounds call to ice the game, for example).
Goal will be to play hard on the perimeter but also hope that we get significant good minutes from the subs in case we need them- going 10/11 deep like Louisville had to would be an adventure. ..

I know Chris landed on the wrist, but made free throws and a shot after...but don't remember him taking a shot or even being in the game much second half...I'll take the minutes for Hollis but this was something to do with it?

Positive: Freeman doing his thing. Inbounds plays munch improved.
Negative: Our bench - "do no wrong" bench 2 pts 4 fouls (a couple of off ball calls for turnovers) needs to be improved.

I still don't understand why Monroe put the ball on the floor immediately after receiving it one on one in the post a foot away from the basket - prob a foul but Hayward got the steal with 1 min left. Like Hibbert eventually learned, keep it high big man!

so vaughn hurt his ankle, we bite on every shot fake, monroe keeps getting it stolen by the shortest player in the big east when he gets it in the post...i guess we are only down 2

i would have cringed had I learned he took 22 shots (w/ our balanced system, 'slow' tempo, and the recent slight he has been getting) but he took over and never let up.

really nice pass by monroe...over the back right shoulder to benimon underneath. he missed the layup but fought for a tied ball rebound.
