The NCAA is going to have to go back and address the Flagrant 1 call when a player with the ball makes contact above the shoulders of the defender. If I were a player I would purposely play up on the guy with the ball looking for contact. It is a huge boost getting the FT's and the ball. I realize the rule is in place to prevent injury, but I can see it being the opposite. These kids already give up their bodies in order to take a charge. This will probably be Coach K's new defensive strategy. I have not met a baller that would take a elbow to the face for the team. The two things that you dont want to happen to you the most are being undercut and catching an elbow to the face....... I should have clarified, not actually taking the elbow but getting close enough to flop when an elbow may come your way. I am pretty sure Will Barton did this against us in the second Memphis game. Getting undercut is extremely scary and something I hope I don't see.

No matter what happens on the court these are the types of stories that make it great to be a Hoyas' fan. It seems that JT3 really looks to recruit a specific type of person, one with integrity. This isn't the first time we have read a story like this about a Hoya and I am sure it will not be the last. It is refreshing to see in today's college sports environment. I will be extremely proud to be a fellow alumn with Jason and the rest of our Hoyas.

Big choke job by ND with some interesting officiating at the end. Horrible ending to what had been a pretty entertaining game. Might have been interesting but it was all correct calls. I agree it is in the rules, but it is horrible to see two teams play as hard as they did and then have the game decided by something that had no effect on the play going on.

That play where Thornton just stole the ball back will probably give Duke the win. That was a huge momentum swing. Just shows how you have to come to play for the full 40 minutes and can't have a one second mental lapse.

Pastner is really going to have to step it up as a coach. All he does is recruit a bunch of talented kids and throw them out there. They just try to play street ball and do not look to share the ball at all. He better figure it out soon or he will quickly find himself at the bottom of the Big East.

Nate is stepping up nicely. We need to keep wearing them down with or defense.

Not so sure on that call on Sims. Looks like our guards should be able to penetrate easily against this team. Hope they realize it and keep using it.

Having a literal ulcer st this time of year is not a good thing. I was not nervous until the horn sounded for the NC State SDSU game. Gonna be a long fifteen minutes till tip off.

It does seem Hollis fades from the line the second he releases the ball. RDF you brought up a good point about it being JT3's job to correct it. One thing I noticed when at the Nova game was that JT3 did not watch our FT's. He knelt down at the scorer's table and turned toward the crowd with his head down. I assume it must be one of the assistants jobs to correct any problems.

This has been a bad week thus far but when I logged on and saw this thread last night I couldn't help but smile. Hopefully it is the first of a couple of good things to happen to a Georgetown fan this week.

Loved Golic asking JT3 about the free throw issue. Seems like JT3 has been working on it with the team and he is honestly frustrated about them missing so many. He mentioned how it is hard to practice outside of the game situation. He has gone from punishing them when they miss to rewarding them when they make them. Also mentioned how we are a good shooting team so it is perplexing. Really seems to me it is lack of concentration/nerves that are causing the missed FT's.

Pretty loud in the Garden right now. Cuse and Pitt can get the hell out, we don't need them. They can enjoy getting hosed in North Carolina from now on as far as I am concerned. No sporting event beats the Big East Tournament.

What impact does FSU winning have on our seeding? This may allow them to jump us.
On another note, how the hell do the refs let River push off on that defender? It was a full on shove with full extension. It is a joke they allowed him even to attempt a shot after that.

This may seem dumb but when there is a big time recruit all I ever hear about is handlers and I don't understand what they are. I assume they are trying to steer a recruit towards certain schools and for their services they gain some financial rewards. However, I don't understand two things: Why would a recruit listen to them? and How do they become hangers on later in his career? We are talking about the number one player in the country. He could show up on almost any campus and ask to be on the team and gain admittance. He can then play one year hire whoever he deems to be the best agent and make millions. What does these handlers bring to the table?

That elbow rule has to be changed. The only intelligent thing Doris has said was pointing out how coaches are going to have their players playing tight in the hopes of catching an elbow. It is ridiculous that you cant make a legitimate move in that situation.
The no call on Hollis was atrocious. They literally grabbed his arm and stopped his momentum to the basket.
