here's just one tournament breakdown of Davis and Ayers ....
JOE BROWN MEMORIAL RECAP:
Cameron Ayers (6-3, Playaz Red): Overshadowed by the trio of Isaiah Epps, Fuquan Edwin and Trevor Clemmings, Ayers is the ideal complementary player. He can do a little of everything, and looks smooth while doing it. Ayers is a very good shooter, especially from the mid-range, and he has a nice pull-up jumper from inside the arc. Furthermore, he has the ability to take it to the basket and finish at the rim. He is a decent passer who finds the open man. Ayers has a high basketball IQ and doesn’t make many mistakes.
Class of 2011
Myles Davis (6-0, Playaz White): Davis is a talented player, but he rarely comes out and really takes over a game like he has shown flashes of. He can do a little of everything, but is at his best when he is being aggressive offensively, knocking down jumpers from the mid-range and from behind the three-point line. He can get hot from beyond the arc and has a quick release, making it difficult to block. At times, he takes the ball into the lane with no true destination.
..................................................................................................................
Markus Kennedy (6-9, Team NJ ABC U-16): Kennedy is going to be a dominant player once he works on his conditioning and develops more stamina. He showed flashes of his enormous potential on Sunday, but he also tired very easily and his team seemed to play better with him on the bench. He didn’t get up-and-down the court very well, although some of that can be attributed to him playing more than a week straight without a day off. However, he can score very well inside and has a variety of back-to-the-basket moves to get points from. He moves well without the ball and gives his teammates a good target for passes. Kennedy gets good position down low and turns to the basket smoothly. He also rebounds the ball strongly. Defensively, he failed to box out a few times because he left his man to try and block a shot. He also made some mental mistakes throughout the tournament.
........................................................................................................................
(The tournament is also known as the “Playaz Ball” to some as it is sponsored by the New Jersey powerhouse Playaz AAU program. Whichever name you call it, it was a two-day tournament featuring 24 of the top U-17 AAU teams in the region and 16 of the top U-16 squads. There was pool play followed by a bracket-style format to decide a winner. The hometown Playaz Gold took home the U-17 title, while New Heights 2011 won the U-16 championship. )

Quick clip on local guard: Eric Atkins .... (the entire article is on NBEbasketball.com)
As just a sophomore, Atkins earned 2nd team all-Met last year playing for coach Pat Clatchey at Mount Saint Joseph in Baltimore (MD). On the AAU circuit he teamed with recent Duke commitments Tyler Thornton and Josh Hairston to lead the 16-U DC Assault Squad to one of the most impressive summers on the circuit, citing that “my AAU team winning the Vegas 16-U championship” as the highlight of his summer.
Now, back home and at school in Baltimore, the coaches that saw him over the summer are making their interest in him clear as Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt and Kentucky have all come by Mount St. Jospeh this month already. Atkins has also recently visited UMass and Virginia Tech. He plans to visit more.
“I’m planning on visiting Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt and Maryland and that’s it,” Atkins said of future visit plans. “Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh, Georgetown, Maryland and UMass” were rattled off by Atkins when asked of his favorite schools that he had been hearing most from.

lol .... don't shoot the messenger ... but it does sound ridiculous ... on a side note ... AYERS also goes on record saying Hoyas are his leader as well ... its a little to early to mark these kids down as ours (they change favorites by the week) .... but its a good look to be listed early with them ... I KNOW LIC IS LOVING THE THOUGHT OF Another 7 footer ... BUT I believe Dash Riley will turn out to be a good one at the Hilltop...

Say's Cuse and GU are his dream schools.......
Markus Kennedy Class: 2010 Position: Power Forward Height: 6Œ9 Weight: 225 School: St. Patrick NJ AAU Team: Team New Jersey ABC
.........................................................................................................................
some clips from with-in the last few months.... (his team-mate also lists the Hoyas:Kyrie Irving)
Villanova was the first school to tender a scholarship offer to Kennedy and the class of 2010 star is very high on Jay Wright and the Wildcats. Not too long after the offer from Villanova, schools like Rutgers, Michigan State and, most recently, Ohio State have followed with scholarship offers and St. Johnfs and Georgetown could follow as well. Syracuse is another team showing interest and that is fine by Kennedy as he has grown up with the Orange and Hoyas as his edream schools.f
.....................................................................................................................................
On the positive side, Kennedy already has a variety of skills that are only likely to get better as he gets older and matures. First of all, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, he is supposed to be 7-foot-2 when he finishes growing. If that ends up being true, look out. Offensively, Kennedy is an outstanding force inside. He can finish around the rim, and is a ferocious dunker with both hands. He moves without the ball extremely well, constantly making himself available. He gets great position inside, enabling him to get easy baskets once he gets the ball. Kennedy has a variety of back-to-the-basket post moves off which he can get points. Additionally, he has decent hands. If he does not have a shot, he looks to pass the ball and does not force shots. He has a tendency to miss a few open lay-ups at times down low, but he also has the ability to finish with contact. Defensively, he is a very shot-blocker who also changes shots without even touching them. On the other hand, he falls victim to pump-fakes on occasion and is often out of position or fails to box out when he tries to help out in the lane.
.......................................................................................................
g[My strengths are] as a rebounder, passer and screener. I need to work on my conditioning, though. Ifm just running miles per day to try and get more stamina.h
Schools alread in hot pursuit include Louisville, Xavier, Penn State, Rutgers, Rider and Ohio State. Kennedy lists his favorites as Ohio State and Georgetown. The Hoyas have shown interest, but havenft offered yet.

I'm going to call my people at St. Anthony's to see what they say about him .. he plays AAU ball for the Playerz I believe it says above ... so it shouldn't be a problem and If he's good my boy would know of him ... His list isn't to shabby .. but it could be that he's listing schools that he's interested in - it might not go both ways .. we'll see .. I'll ask around.

Ayers is a top 50 player (6'3 guard) that can ball .. I'd love to see us stay involved there .. Lubick would be a great get ... as would Tharpe ... but the most important player to me is Roscoe ..... I really hope we stay in the mix for him ... he's gonna be a star impact player ... I'm going to make some calls to see what they say about Davis ... it strikes me funny because transferring from St. Benedict’s (NJ) to St. Peter’s: “I wanted to start over academically, . . . and plus, [with] basketball, . . . I wanted to show everybody I can play.” makes me feel as if he's down grading the talent he's gonna play against ... but if the reason is for what he stated "Academics" then its understandable ... I'll stay on top of the situation and find out more about him though.

On the topic of ranking ... they put our two man class at #3 behind NOVA and UNC ... not that it matters , but its a good look ... (not sure why they mention C.Braswell .. but here it is) :
Coach John Thompson III and the Hoyas have a strong three-member class of two ESPNU 100 players and one of the nation's top prep school talents. Six-foot-8 PF Chris Braswell (Chatham, Va./ Hargrave Military Academy) was a 2008 Hoyas signee, but he did not achieve the academic requirements to enroll at Georgetown this fall and will spend next year as a postgraduate player at Hargrave Military. Braswell, a force inside, will be one of the top-rated prep school players. The Hoyas also have No. 32 DaShonte Riley (Beverly Hills, Mich./ Detroit Country Day), a talented but inconsistent 6-10 C/F, and No. 75, gifted 6-7 WF Hollis Thompson (Los Angeles, Calif./ Loyola). Several highly ranked prospects are considering Georgetown, so it could advance in the final rankings.
here's what they had to say about DaShonte Riley (UPDATED): DaShonte Riley | Center Rank: #32Hometown: Detroit, MI Detroit Country Day School (MI) Position rank: Center # 5 Ht: 6'11" Wt: 220 Last Updated:8/27/2008
Grade 89
July, 2008: Riley is a long wiry athlete that possesses very good skill. He runs the floor well and can finish when he has a step on the defense. He is a good ball handler and passer especially in the high post area where he can drive the lane, deliver the high/low pass to a teammate posting in the middle of the lane or shoot the 15 foot jumper. Riley also likes to shoot the right handed jump hook over his left shoulder. He is a good rebounder on both ends and always seems to make his presence felt on the offensive glass with a timely put back basket or just keeping the ball alive. Riley does a great job using his length to contest and change shots in addition to be an excellent weak side shot blocker on the defensive end of the floor. He will need to add strength and must play with more passion and intensity. At times he seemed to loose interest in the game that led to him playing very unaggressive. Riley is very talented and a high major prospect when motivated. I expected more after watching him dominate games last summer as a rising junior.
December, 2007: On potential alone this long armed shot blocker is one of the Top 10 prospects in the country in the 2009 class. He runs the floor like a deer, blocks shots like Dikembe Mutombo, has a sweet touch from along the baseline, and he is a great passer from the post. The only problem is that you only get to see his complete game in brief stretches because he seems to lack the drive to dominate for a whole game. He may have 10 points, 10 rebounds, and block 6 shots in one quarter, but then put it on cruise control for the rest of the night. He's still just a baby in terms of experience because he's a late bloomer. So if the light ever comes all the way on, you're looking at a lottery pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. The kid has loads of talent and the only question -- which must be mentioned -- is desire.
DaShonte is a very, very long inside player. He is a supreme shot blocker with a tremendous wing span. I question whether he loves basketball yet though his passion has improved. DaShonte shows flashes of greatness. He is developing offensively. He is now effective to 12 feet with above average post moves. He is not great yet but he probably will be. He is loaded with potential. DaShonte needs more strength and aggression. He must learn to sustain his effort in order to dominate entire games not just small portions of games. DaShonte is a top 30 player in the country for 2009.
........................................................................................................
Not the best report/update ... but here's what they had to say about Thompson: Hollis Thompson | Small Forward Rank: #75Hometown: Los Angeles, CA Loyola H.S. (CA) Position rank: Small Forward # 17 Ht: 6'7" Wt: 190 Last Updated:8/27/2008
83 grade
July, 2008: Thompson hasn't developed much in the past year both physically as well as his overall game. He is a slashing wing-type that needs to get tougher and become a much more consistent jump shooter if he is going to play for Georgetown during the 2009-10 season. He has the athleticism to play at that level, but his overall feel for the game needs to improve immensely.
June, 2008: After a rather pedestrian spring campaign, Thompson played some of his best basketball at this event (2008 Pangos All-American Camp). His energy is never debatable, but his consistency in terms of productivity can be an issue now and again. However, this weekend his jump shot was flowing out to the stripe and he stroked a few mid-range jump shots off the bounce that were impressive as well. He's relentless in transition and excels in trapping and playing in the lanes. He still needs to become tougher (needs strength) in the blocks and utilize his length and become a tougher rebounder, but overall his play was quite good this weekend. Thompson has a ton of upside and as his skills, particularly his handle, continue to improve, he should have a successful career at Georgetown.
December, 2007: Thompson's best days of playing are definitely ahead of him. The wiry athletic three-man has improved in every aspect of the game, especially his jump shot. In addition, he plays hard at both ends (excellent rebounder) and should be a devastating defender at the next level (Georgetown) due to his length and athleticism. He still needs to tighten up his handle as he struggles getting his own shot (off the bounce), but he moves very well away from the ball and should be a nice fit in Georgetown's offense. Unfortunately, his high school team does a very poor job of getting him good looks at the basket.
Thompson has improved dramatically since the winter season. A few months ago he was an undersized four-man with limited offensive skills. However, in recent months his shooting touch, out to the stripe, has become much more effective. He has always had an impressive frame with long arms and overall great length, but now his skills are catching up to his physical attributes. Due to the improvements he has made with his shot, it now has opened up opportunities to take defenders off the bounce. He has a very good first step and he possesses the type of frame to be a slashing driver. In addition to his blossoming perimeter skills, Thompson is an excellent student and his leadership was exemplified quite often. On numerous occasions he guided his team through the offense and was a catalyst in many of their respective scoring opportunities. Defensively, he is a good defender and has a chance to be special due to his length and quick feet - Corey Brewer (Florida) comes to mind. Overall, Thompson has a high ceiling for the three spot and with his work ethic we're sure he'll get there.

I'll be sure to see him and his running mate this yr .... any word on this kid RDF or ID ... is he that good?
On Georgetown, the Plainfield superstar had this to say: “I like the . . . facilities. I like the way they run their plays, and let their point guards take control of their team.” He added that the Hoyas are “looking at . . . Tyrone [Johnson and I] as a backcourt.” This is interesting as Johnson, a class of 2011 stud, and Epps are high school teammates. Although Isaiah was not 100% sure which Georgetown coach was in charge of recruiting him, he knew it was either David Cox or Kenya Hunter.
So what does Isaiah think of the Big East anyway? “I’m really an ACC guy, but I just like certain schools from the Big East,” mentioning, “Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Rutgers, and Georgetown.”
Epps, who indicated that he will play point guard in college, despite the fact that he may grow to 6-foot-4, does not have a clear leader between Pitt and Maryland at this point in time. When asked who he would sign with if signing day was tomorrow, he was really unsure, “I really don’t know. . . . [I'm] still thinking with my mom.”
