Not sure , but happy he was able to attend that Waka Flaka concert. I'm sure he got to meet the entire team and played pick-up. The first two steps were huge in that Pat was the first one to fly to see him and the second was him visiting with his family. The next step is on him

I agree , I feel the Hoyas are in a good position to make this happen. We all know how recruiting goes , so it's huge that we had the opportunity to have him and HIS FAMILY visit the HILLTOP. Coach Ewing made it known to him and his family that he will be in good hands and James won't regret his decision if he chose the Hoyas.

Hoyas will go down to the wire for James and I hope him and his family really enjoyed their visit to DC. I like our chances and I trust that the staff did all they could to show him we need and want him on the Hilltop.

No disrespect to Devonish , but if we land J.Akinjo there's no need for another guard. 2019 we can get a local guard or a player the staff feels can help immediately. James and Mac will both see time next season and contribute. "Patience"

here's a couple reasons:
1)On this board .. We've stressed the NEED of another guard for next season in addition to MAC 2)This kid is very underrated , Talented and very HUNGRY 3)Coach Ewing flew to Cali immediately and told him straight up .. we need another PG 4)Not only is he the Highest rated PG available , HE PLAYS DEFENSE with the best of them 5)Look at the list of schools chasing him 6)We were his first HOME VISIT after being released and we're his first OFFICIAL VISIT 7)He was committed to an East Coast team already , meaning he's ok leaving the West 8)His Family seems fond of coach Ewing and Gtown

THE NEW STAFF ... and the new style of play. Now we have to win some games and little by little these elite kids will come. I felt a different vibe this season and it was completely positive. We're on the right path and the staff is on their grind. We'll see positive results soon. Personally I love the direction Coach Ewing has the program headed and I have Faith. Like coach said "Patience"

I can't speak for Cremo , but I've watched Mooney play multiple times. He's good and can absolutely play on this level. I want James Akinjo to be a HOYA and I know the staff is pushing to make this happen.

JAMES AKINJO is ABSOLUTELY the #1 option and should be. Wouldn't hurt to reach out to Mooney or Cremo , but there's a reason Coach Ewing/Staff made their way to James A's Home in Cali immediately after him being granted his release. Akinjo is a STUD and with him and Mac , Hoyas would certainly be able to compete going forward. The so-called mystery recruit would be a great addition also , but not sure he'd ever make it to the 2019/2020 season if he had to sit out. No one knows the situation in total , so I guess we all have to let the Dominoes fall.. I'm confident the STAFF is on their BIKE.. HOYAS WILL BE BACK

I don't doubt that the kid is talented , but there's a reason he's only being recruited/offered by the smaller schools (Example: New Hampshire) This isn't a knock on the kid as we all know some recruits slip through the rocks and go unrecognized daily. Yes we're in need of another PG on the roster and YES the coaches are on their grind. I don't wanna reach for a player that may not be able to contribute immediately , and miss out on the local guards in the 2019 class. If the Hoyas went to see this kid play and he was on the radar , I'm sure they have him as a 5th or 6th option. I'm also not denying the Talent in the DMV as I already know there's plenty of talent there. Until GTown starts winning , these Elite kids don't wanna come to the Hilltop plain and simple. The same way all the Elite kids leave NJ and NY. WIN 1st and they will come. Md has their work cut out for them as far as the DMV is concerned. Until the Hoyas make some noise , Md will continue to be the choice for locals over the Hoyas. Just my OPINION.
