There are some head scratching paragraphs about playing time and usage (author writes as if he didn’t know Omer was injured, though in a tweet he claims he did know), but overall pretty high praise.

I don't see any reason to add him if Mac stays. I get the hole in the lineup for next year, but there's still Beard, D Harris, and Clark (and Robinson) as potential guards... and an entire year to recruit and find grad transfers all over again. I'd say keep the spot open as a 1-yr lottery ticket. Maybe you find a late grad xfer or a late de-commit before the season starts, or use it on a significant early season sit-out transfer. Maybe it doesn't pan out... You're not losing anything this year by not having a 13th man (unless of course, a third of the team leaves a month in...) We've got 8 total years left invested in a couple of kids that a majority of people still have major questions about, and another 12 in FR of varying pedigree who still need to prove they belong. I can't see adding 4 more years to that on somebody that most people don't peg any better overall than any of those kids. I like House a lot, but I agree that if Mac is coming back then the last scholarship might need to stay open for a late grad transfer, an impact sit out transfer, a late de-commit, or also an impact 2021 reclassification (Collins, Cisse, etc).

Elijah Wood Georgetown is also one of Wood’s favorites. “I love Patrick Ewing, how Coach [Robert] Kirby has come in and told me bad things about my game and what I can work on to get better,” Wood said of Georgetown. Wood has had more recruiting activity with Georgetown that any other school combining visits to campus and visits from coaches. He attended Georgetown’s game against Villanova earlier this season. Wood sits on the right in the photo below at the Georgetown game. Wood has taken two unofficial visits to Georgetown, one to St. Joesph’s, one to George Washington, one to West Virginia (for the West Virginia/Kentucky game) along with the one to St. John’s. Wood has been receiving interest, but no offers yet, from some of the nations top programs, namely West Virginia, UNC and Kentucky. Wood said that Kentucky will be coming to his AAU games later this year. It came as no surprise when Wood told me that the schools he had higher interest in at this point are the ones he has actually visited. Wood said that he plans to visit other schools on his list down the road. “Anyone who will come talk to me some more, I’d be happy to go see what they have. I really want to get out to visit more, just to experience the college feel,” Wood said. It’s clear that Wood has a lot of potential, and being just a sophomore, he will have time to develop into a better player before stepping on campus at whichever school he chooses. If the pass-first guard can fill out his 6’5” frame in the weight room, he could be even tougher to stop. His recruiting process still has a long way to go, but for now, St. John’s is certainly a contender to land this high ceiling point guard. www.rumbleinthegarden.com/2018/2/18/17008662/recruting-profile-2020-pg-elijah-wood-st-johns-bethesda-chevy-chase-georgetown-west-virginia

It'd be amazing to get Williams. He'd be a fantastic addition and would immediately become one of our best players. But the NBA Draft is currently scheduled for June 25. Who knows if it will actually happen - it might get delayed. So if Ewing and the team hold a spot for Williams, it basically means that if he goes pro, we won't fill that spot for next year. Since Mac is already doing the same thing - heading for the draft and possibly coming back if that doesn't go well - that'd be two spots we're holding open indefinitely. That sounds like it could be a costly strategy - waiting for the Draft and then possibly missing out on two big contributors. I don't think Ewing can wait on Williams - unless there's at least an unofficial guarantee that Williams will choose Georgetown if he doesn't wind up going pro. Otherwise he has to bring in a good player if he can. Another factor is that Williams would have to sit this year if the NCAA doesn't change their transfer rules. That would potentially mean that Coach Ewing has a little more flexibility with the timing if he is comfortable using that scholarship on a sit out transfer.

Yeah once Yurt is officially in the pool. Hasn't that been confirmed? It was confirmed a few hours after that post.

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. I get it, but the Hoyas offered him in August 2018. The time investment you're so concerned with has already been made. If the staff were to actually implement your "recruiting strategy" it would have to go into effect for the 2022 or 2023 class, unless you want them to call up the top recruits in the country they have relationships with and tell them that Georgetown is no longer interested.

Well, there was a post to that effect, but perhaps that was wrong or a misunderstanding... I think this is the Tweet you're referring to.
