Just two spots short of being a four star in their player rankings. This kid is going to make these recruiting websites look stupid for overthinking him! Assuming all these rankings moving up also improved our overall ranking for the 2020 class. I believe we were #40 and now I see us at #37. Can someone confirm that, I just don't recall without a doubt what we were before. Google Cache shows overall rank #38, with Sibley 91, Beard 160, Clark 344, Harris NA. Now the site shows overall rank #37, with Sibley 96, Beard 147, Clark 356, Harris 394.

We do desperately need to increase our social media presence and update our philosophy. If you coach a major conference program AND have a proven track record you might get away with some old school thinking. Might. Patrick obviously does not have that record now. I definitely agree with you about increasing social media presence and impact (acknowledging that it has improved over the past 1-2 years in some areas), though I found this interesting.

Glad we made White's list. I stand by my previous statement and see him at Georgia Tech or Georgia. IIRC, he was a strong Georgia Tech lean coming out of HS but couldn't pass admissions. I've also seen some speculation that Vandy could be a likely landing spot since he played for Stackhouse Elite in AAU. And as an aside, Goodman amended his Tweet to say Vandy should be included in the list.

Have you learned the difference between NBA draft early entry and the transfer portal yet? Ok, I'll explain my thinking (at least try to) an why I even brought up transfer. I've posted the transcript below of the interview. 1) I heard Katz mention both the NBA Draft and the transfer portal in his question 2) We had not heard any news (that I know of) stating Pickett was looking to do anything other than be back next year. 3) I was confused by Ewing's answer so I wondered (out loud on here) what Pickett was considering that warranted an announcement by Ewing. 4) I thought it was possible Ewing mixed his thoughts and was attempting to respond to both the draft and transfer part of Katz question and happened to lump Pickett into Mac/NBA Draft in his answer. I totally understand that "testing the waters" is typically used when talking about the NBA rather than transferring. This response was just not clear to me at all last night so I was trying to figure out what he was saying. Seems I should try not to read between the lines (and Ewing may want to do the same as well ). Transcript of the interview: 0:00 – 0:27 - Katz: Alright, so the NBA Draft, we don’t know when it’s going to happen, when it’s going to be yet, umm, you know, if it’s still going to be in June. More than Likely it’s going to be in August or September. You’ve got some players obviously dealing with that. How are you handling the sorta instability of the roster with the draft process and also you know, not that you have to deal with the transfer portal but that whole aspect we still don’t know yet how that’s got to shake out rosters just across the country? 0:28 – 0:41 Ewing: Well, um, you, in terms of the NBA. Omer Yurtseven not going to come back. He, he says he going to stay in, in the draft. Well, he, he coulda came, uh, come back one year but he decided to stay in the draft 0:42 – 1:39 Ewing: Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett, uh, decided to test the waters. And their, I think, both of them, well they’ve told me both of them will be coming back. So if that, that part of it, you know, we know Omer is not going to be back. He was a, uh, a, a great, uh, integral part of our team but we feel that both Qudas Wahab and Timothy, Timothy Egoefe will be able to step in and, and fill those shoes. Uh, you know, we, definitely, Mac and and Jamorko, they’re also a significant part of, of our team, and we definitely we’re happy that they’re be coming back and we’re looking for a better, you know, year of. That, with the nucleus of guys that we have coming back and the, the new guys we have coming in, we should have a pretty good team. Thanks, I just wanted to make sure it was clear to you since you mentioned your interpretation multiple times here and you also mentioned it on Twitter, and you didn't acknowledge anyone here that was correcting you. I just didn't want others to cling to that narrative if there wasn't a strong basis for it.

Ewing made news with no news today. Which is why we don't have a system yet. Ewing made new news saying Pickett is coming back (him leaving wasn't previous news). Means he was considering transferring since he missed all NBA deadlines. And said nothing new on McClung "I THINK he is coming back". Not offical Mac is back. Geez PR needs to filter everything Ewing explicitly said "Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett decided to test the waters", which means Pickett considered the NBA draft, not that Pickett considered a transfer.

Ewing explicitly said "Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett decided to test the waters", which means Pickett considered the NBA draft, not that Pickett considered a transfer. But why make it a story if it wasn't one in the first place? Pickett testing the waters is positive news. Pickett coming back is positive news. Why not share it? There’s no obligation to make a public announcement of testing the waters. Sure lots of players do it, but they don’t have to. Omer didn’t make his announcement until the day after the deadline. Just because we didn’t know about Pickett testing the waters means nothing. Ewing was asked a question about players going to the draft, so he answered about all of his players that had declared for the draft. I don’t get why you’re freaking out about this. And I especially don’t get why you keep on repeating a false narrative. You’re asking why make Pickett coming back a story. A number of people had publicly wondered why Pickett wasn’t testing the waters to get feedback, so that story was already out there. Now it’s confirmed that Pickett did test the waters to get feedback, and those same people have publicly applauded the decision. Again, this is all positive news.

no he didn’t. He said “i think” and corrected it to “they told me.” There was also no mention of Jamorko considering a transfer. Did you even watch the video? Yes, I watched. Why would he even announce "he told me" about a guy that wasn't actually testing NBA waters (that anyone knows of) and nobody reported was considering a transfer. If that is the way he handles things then I guess we need to wait for him to announce that all the other guys are returning? Someone explain why Pickett needed to. E announced as returning. And if it wasn't for any reason, then why not mention any of the other returners? Guess they aren't as important? Or he was considering leaving Ewing explicitly said "Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett decided to test the waters", which means Pickett considered the NBA draft, not that Pickett considered a transfer.

In the same Andy Katz interview where Coach Ewing said unequivocally that Mac is coming back for jr year, he said Jamorko had also tested the draft waters and will return. Don't rembered this having been revealed before now. He walked back his Mac comment to "I think". Made new on Pickett considering a transfer. Ewing explicitly said "Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett decided to test the waters", which means Pickett considered the NBA draft, not that Pickett considered a transfer.

Interesting. But sounds like good news. Can’t see Ewing making those comments without some confidence. He said "I think" he is coming back. Nothing new there. But Pickett coming back means he considered a transfer.. that is the news. Ewing explicitly said "Both Mac McClung and Jamorko Pickett decided to test the waters", which means Pickett considered the NBA draft, not that Pickett considered a transfer.

You know everyone on this board personally? Even the lurkers? I didn't know we had a category of posters called lurkers. How does one qualify? Lurkers are when someone frequents a message board but doesn't post and doesn't identify themselves.

Lot of juicy info here for a short snippet. Great to hear that Pickett tested the NBA waters to get some feedback as well. Absolutely no downside if you have NBA aspirations.

We knew up front that Bile was a grad transfer - I'm pretty sure trillesthoya answered that a week before he committed, because I asked that question. The 247 articled posted there is saying that Sibande has to sit 1 - maybe they're wrong, but from what I've read on twitter it sounded like he's a sit 1-play 1. You said "I thought the reason we passed on Murray was that we needed someone for next year." Chudier Bile is someone for next year, since as you said he's a grad transfer.

Is Sibande better? I'm not sure about that. Is 1 year of Sibande better than 3 years of Murray? Yes and yes.

I thought the reason we passed on Murray was that we needed someone for next year. Sibande has to sit a year. Chudier Bile says hi.
