I think the guys have taken summer classes every summer since they were pre-frosh, so think of it this way: If Jeff took 3 classes before freshman year, 8 as a frosh (4 each semester), 3 the summer before soph. year, 8 as a soph, 3 before jr year, 8 as a junior, and one during pre-session this summer, he's taken 34 classes. He needs 38 to graduate, so there is no need for him to take any more summer classes this summer. He can take two each semester next year (or as many as he needs to be eligible), and have more than enough classes, and presumably credits, to graduate. If those numbers are accurate and they're offering what he needs this summer, isn't it also feasible that he could graduate this summer?

Not really I've never heard of some one taking 4 classes in a summer session. I can imagine how anyone could do well in 4 classes that have all the info of a semester crammmed into 4 weeks. almost everyone I know only takes one a session with 3 being the max total for a summer. one pre session, one first session and one second session.

I've taken two summer courses in one session before. It's not what I would call "rigorous" by any means. Then again, I didn't work out for the Celtics between classes.

I guess it depends on what courses you take, I've been taking science courses, which are not easy by themselves, and two is still different then 4 in one session.

2 per session for 2 sessions? Pretty standard load, eh?

players traditionally have taken a light load during the year and caught up on credits in the summer. it was (assume still is) almost unheard of for a player to take 4 or 5 classes in the spring. most take 3 in the fall also so they have to do summer classes to keep up.

You have to take 4 classes to stay full time at Georgetown, so I'm pretty sure they took at least 4 classes

If we assume that Jeff really EVEN THIS WEEK hasn't known his own decision for staying or going, then he must be fact-gathering and analyzing out the wazoo. The times that I have done that have driven me stark raving mad and left me totally without confidence in the decision I finally made. Over time, I've learned not to do that and go with my heart, with far less torment and fewer regrets.
In a sense, Roy has taken what seems to be a more mature (certainly more confident) path: open the door to a possibility, consider it for a while, make a decision and look forward to next year. I wish Jeff had been able to do that, no matter which way the decision went. The fact that he hasn't makes this seem pretty treacherous.
I don't have a good feeling about it, despite Katz's glimmers of hope for us. It's just taking too long, and the NBA teams have had his ear the entire time.

p.s. I pretty much hate the NBA anyway. With limited exceptions, they all seem like whiners, thugs, and prima donnas. The college game is far more entertaining.
Of course, that's as a fan. If I were a player, I'd find all that money and the chance to play with the very best at what I'm good at would be very attractive. Not to mention the, um, side benefits.
