There was supposed to be a rally on KSU's campus to encourage Huggins to stay but it apparently was cancelled. It appears he is take a long hard look at WVU.
If he goes there, the BE maintains or even improves as he will get instant recruits. BTW, how upset must Beasley & Walker be if he leaves them in Manhattan, KS?

I would imagine that Beasley walks away - he's demosntrated that his word is worthless time and time again, so loses nothing by backing out of his commitment to KSU.
As for Walker, he has a torn ACL, so his status might have been in doubt anyway for next year, so what is to prevent him from transferring?

I would be stunned if Huggins left for WVU. Why leave what he is creating at KSU?

What is he creating at KSU? Whatever KSU has, it is 100% Huggins. He can recreate it anywhere. He's a native West Virginian and I think a WVU grad. The question would be whether he could find a way to get Beasley to come with him.

That would torpedo my wild theory that the BE agreed to let Cincy in only if they got rid of slimy Huggins.

Isn't Huggins from WV? Wouldn't it also give him a chance to thump the BearCats once or twice per year?

Isn't there something on his contract that says that he doesn't have to pay the buyout if he goes to West Virginia, or am I confusing him with someone else?

I really don't want this scum bag sucking around our confrence. Thuggins and his track suits should stay in Kansas until the NCAA finaly does something about this guy.

If Huggins brought the type of teams he had at Cincy with him to Big East--he'd be a perennial Middle of Pack team. This isn't the C-USA and as you saw when Pitino entered the league and brought C-USA level talent to the court what happened? He missed the BET--he ran most of them off and got Big East level talent and you see a great improvement.
As for Huggins--he coaches one way--force basketball and the Big East INVENTED that style of play--nobody in this league will be intimidated by guys with muscles who can play ball but not very well. Danny Fortson like goons have been seen and chewed up in this league and will continue to be--the style of play Beilein brought to WVU was successful--and Huggins would change that--and I'd see WVU looking for a new coach and suffering probation with 3 years of Huggins departure--he would split before it effected him--he's the WHITE TRASH of CBB and I for one don't want him in Big East--but due to his reputation as a dirty scumball-not out of fear--as a Basketball coach--I'd be glad WVU would TRADE DOWN--and it would be fun to watch Bob Huggins in Big East flame out--then in his once every while NCAA appearance to flop as he did at Cincy.
So if he does take job--lock up the valuables and hide your daughters--the HHIC--Head Hillbilly In Charge would be in Morgantown!

There aren't a lot of "guys with muscles" currently on the roster. Of course, Huggy might clean house and bring in five JuCo transfers... It seems to me that a Beilein disciple would be able to replicate his mentor's success immediately, whereas it would be very difficult for Huggins to come in and have a successful first year.

No one is more fun to love to hate than a Huggins-coached team. More so than Beilein, having Huggins in charge makes the WVU game a must-have ticket. He has no business coaching out in Big 12 country.

This would be amazing. Although I have to warn Huggins there are a lot of dangerous roads in WVa that aren't well lit and a lot of moonshine - not exactly the greatest combination for someone with his track record.

I have mixed feeling about this (if it happens). I think RDF is right that Huggins would have to recruit at a higher level than he did at Cincy to succeed at WVU. However, look at the recruits he brought into KSU- I think he'd bring in BE talent to WVU. In fact, I would guess that a lot of his decision may be based upon if he can steal Beasley and bring him to WVU- which could very well happen, as crazy at it seems.
Yeah, they would play a somewhat ragged style- but they would play D and rebound every game. They would be a GREAT team for the Hoyas to play to prepare them for the type of opponent they might face early in the NCAAs.
In some respects, I'd like the BE to distance itself from this clown; but then again, as others have pointed out, he is very fun to hate- and I want to see WVU remain a national program, which I think Huggins would be able to swing, at least on some level.
So if he comes, bring him on, and if not...that's fine, as long as WVU gets someone decent.
