Should be interesting. He will probably try to recruit DC some, which'll be a little of a challenge for us, though I'm not worried as I figure the types of players we'd recruit would be different.
If he can bring Beasely with him, they'll be a really interesting team to watch next year, to see if he can make it work. I agree that the players currently at WVU seem like the opposite type of player Huggins usually has.

I'm sure he made sure beasely was coming with him before he made the decision.

Wow, WVU isn't too worried about how they look in this thing. I don't think their football team was clean either after accepting the kid from MD who robbed a convenience store and "Make it Rain" Pacman Jones.

I can't wait for the official word that Beasley is going to WVU. I wonder if K-State will cry about letting him out of his LOI.

WVU worried about how they look? The same fans who called Grabby a beacon of honor and class and PEjr a "thug" for the incident. Then when Grabby split they went ballistic calling his son gay and insulting his wife. No, WVU fans are not worried in the least.

That kind of guy would not leave without his star recruit. I haven't followed WVU recruiting very much, but how much are Bielein's players chosen to fit his unique offensive system. Are they going to poorly matched with Huggin's coaching style?

WVU has officially moved from my "BE team I root for when they aren't playing us" category to the Syracuse/UCONN group.

Barring a last-second change of plans, Bob Huggins will soon announce he is leaving Kansas State for West Virginia, CBS SportsLine.com has confirmed through multiple sources. One source described the move as 'imminent.' Another said it is 'very close.'

Eh. Huggins is a second-rate hack now coaching a second-rate BE team. WVU was special due to system and discipline. BeeLine takes that system with him to scUM and Huggie brings a near total lack of discipline.
Sure, maybe he brings Beasley (for a year, two at the most) and attracts thugs-wit-hoop-skilz-type players every now and then but, overall, I think this cements WVU as a 6-10 through 10-6 BEC record squad for a long, long time.

WVU has officially moved from my "BE team I root for when they aren't playing us" category to the Syracuse/UCONN group. Agreed. Bielein was a coach worthy of respect. Huggins is drunk driving scum. At least this allows me to pull out one of my favorite pieces of journalism from the Cincinnati Enquirer:UC's most public face now wears an omelet. Fairfax cops stopped Bob Huggins late Tuesday and charged him with driving under the influence. The arrest report isn't something you'd want your kid to read, especially if your kid were a big-time college basketball recruit: Slurred speech. Watery eyes. Staggered from car. Didn't complete a Breathalyzer. Failed field sobriety tests. Vomit on the driver's side door. You could say it could have happened to anyone. You'd be right if Huggins were anyone. He isn't. He's a public figure with a well-known and enduring affection for barley malt.
We laughed two years ago, when the get-well regimen his doctors assigned him after his heart attack allowed for 12 ounces of wine a day. Only Huggins would have his wine served in a beer-sized portion.

I'm thrilled. Sports are better when there are badguys involved. With Huggins it is as black and white as can be.

Isn't Huggins from WV? Wouldn't it also give him a chance to thump the BearCats once or twice per year? Yes, he was the pudgy point guard at WVU back in the mid-70's, during the years when Derrick Jackson was THE MAN at GU. They used to have this postseason playoff (just before the formation of the Big East) called ECAC South. We beat WVU in Morgantown to get an NCAA spot in, I think, '75. Huggins hit a shot to put Mountaineers ahead late, but Hoyas hiit the last shot to go to the NCAA, where we promptly lost first round to Dan Roundfield's Central Michigan team.
