I second that HSB. We're all used to the last minute thing, but it's not like we might not qualify for the tournament. I don't understand having to be so last minute this year except for the possibility of having to wait for the band/cheerleaders/etc for numbers of tickets they'll need. I'm starting to get worried. As a student who has four midterms next week, I pray they don't sell them the morning I have an 8:50 midterm. It happened to me last year and I was able to get around it, but I don't think I'll be able to this year.

I have midterms two mornings next week, and don't see any way I could possibly miss them. And I'm scared to death that the day of my 8:50 midterm will be the one where they decide to do BET ticket sales.

i was told from persons in the bball office that tix this year are at a all time high in terms of demand for all BE schools. it shocked me as the conf. is considered to be down by most experts compared to last season.
it appears that the ncaa tix will be easier to get versus the conf tourny tix. the delay for student tix may have to do with the conf getting the allotments finalized instead of the bball office. or it could be the bball office trying to decide how they are going to handle the high demand from not only students, but hoop club members as well.

I really think it makes no sense that all 16 BE teams get tickets not just the 12 that make it. The only advantage i could see would be that it would allow schools to start selling tickets earlier because they wouldn't have to wait to see if they're going to make the tournament or not. But obviously that's not happening so i see no advantage.

I love amateur sports. OK... it makes sense. All the more reason to be in NYC and aggressively pursuing scalping tickets. It's the traditional way to see the BET.

how much do student tickets cost if you buy them from the Athletic Department? I believe the going rate has been $40 the past three years, with you getting a $10 rebate for any day the Hoyas don't play on.

If you visibly seek to sell or buy tickets right in front of MSG, the cops take that as a direct insult to them and will nail you for it. But, if you are subtle and savvy -- and don't do it right in front of the Garden!!! -- you'll be fine. As has been mentioned, the best thing to do is get tickets to Wed sessions. (Wed. is a piece of cake). Get into the house and try to buy tickets from losing teams. It is easy to identify team fans, they wear all kinds of hats, sweatshirts, etc with their team logos. Or just go by the concession stands and say that you want to but tickets for the next night. Also, the Play by Play bar in the Garden is a good place to go. Or, some of the nearby bars. Ask around. Let people know what you want. On the street, just don't do it right in front of the garden. A couple blocks away. Mustang Sally or Mustang Harry (bars) are possibilities. Cafe 31 is always good. Persistence. and being "street wise" are key. Every year, the Garden is sold out for the finals and almost all the fans are there for one of the two teams. Yet all 16 teams get the tickets. So how does it always end up that the most die hard fans of the teams in the finals are in the stands? There has to be a LOT of scalping going on. It would be nice if there is a better system, but there isn't. At least not yet. GOOD LUCK!

One of the reasons the BE is considered down is because of the great parity - a logjam of teams in the middle. This, in turn, means that there are a lot of schools whose fans think they can win the whole thing and would therefore be interested in getting tickets. Hence the high demand.

Anybody ends up with an extra ticket for any session...PM me and I'll take it off your hands.
I'm going to fly in for the BET from SF and need tickets. I am 5-0 at games attended this year...just saying.

They don't mess around.

haha yeah that was pretty funny. Don't do you scalping or buying right in front of the arena. Use your heads people.

My best luck has always been inside the Garden, finding tickets from fans of the team who loses the first game of the session.

I am sure we have this rant to credit for the email I just received stating that student tickets go on sale this Friday at 10AM. $40 once again. The real question is, what time to line up? I am prepared for rather extreme measures. (I must go 4 for 4.)
