Dear PEII,
Its great to have you on the team. We all admire the hustle and energy you bring as well as your good 3 point shooting.
However, I must say that many of us in HoyaNation are very concerned with your lack of emotional control. The Hoyas are a very classy team, but your outbursts are completely out of synch and unnecessary. In addition to reach-in fouls, I have seen you throw elbows, bump people, and now, slap the hand of the opposing coach (even though he should not have touched you).
PEII, I ask that you really think about this and know that your emotions can be both a good and a bad thing for the team. When they result in silly fouls and when they create a ruckus and make us completely lose our momentum, those are bad results. It is important that you control your emotions so that they dont hurt the team. I hope that it doesnt come back to haunt the team and ask that you address the issue now before you do something you will regret. Those kinds of outbursts make you look silly and make people feel embarassed for you. Develop grace in the face of pressure and see that it is a sign of strength when you control your anger. It is a sign of weakness when you lash out.
Keep up the good work and good luck in the Tourney.

Finally, the Hoyas have the altitude, the aptitude and the attitude to win big.
Don't back off, Jr.

While I love the down to business attitudes of Jeff, Roy and Jonathan, I am also a fan from the "old school" Georgetown days. To have a couple of players (Ewing and Summers) who carry some of that "old school" attitude is a good thing, I think. Clearly, we don't want players getting totally out of control and hurting the team (or opposing coaches.....except maybe Boeheim). However, Ewing's little altercation tonight (which I assume this posting was influenced by) was while the team was up by about 25 points. It is never good to draw a silly technical foul, but to show the world that there is still a little bit of the Hoya Paranoia left over from the 80's sure works for me. In those days, many teams were beat before they even took the floor.

To PopeJohn2: Paranoia isn't served on a white doily. It is, however, served with an extra helping of Ewing's elbows. Send your letter to Morgantown, where it might be appreciated. Regards, BR

Pope: isn't your post an unnecessary emotional outburst itself?

For years we've been calling for a little passion... a little fire... from the Hoyas. PEJR brings that. I love it. Gotta disagree, Pope. Respect for the Hoyas has to come with a nice dose of fear on the side.
Hoyas don't take no mess.

The bump was unneccessary, but so was the grab by Beilein. Both should have been T'ed. Neither was, and the refs lost control for a good portion of the 2nd half.

I can see both sides. Yes, we can use emotion, especially because our three juniors are passive by nature.
Yes we can use an enforcer to protect the three juniors.
BUT, that push on Alexander was uncalled for. It was a cheap shot. And there was no place for it. Patrick needs to have a balance. He crossed that line tonight. So, please don't defend him because he was flat out wrong. People say we were up 25 at the time, and yes we were.
But what if we were up two? What if the official had determined he threw a punch and threw him out of the game? Would it be ok then?

Hey Pope. Get this straight. We do not cal ourselves Hoya Nation. That is for lesser wannabe teams like Nova, etc.
We are Georgetown. Period. Case closed.
