Loved Sapp running the fast break at the beginning of both halves. Would like to see us run more often. Great D all around. A few lapses, especially in Macklin's positioning, but freshmen are supposed to make mistakes. He'll learn. Thought Rivers should have looked for his own score on the break where he filled the right side lane but then tried to pass off underneath. Again, freshmen will learn. My only complaint with this game was too many whistles. Referees called mickey mouse fouls on both teams. Let 'em play. Having said that, when both ND bigs had 4 fouls, Roy really exploited their inability to contest his moves. What a relief to see a game like this after having witnessed the Oregon game as my last in person look at the team.

FYI - If you missed the game, or just want to watch it again, ESPN has it archived and free during the FullCourt free preview ( direct link). Edited to fix link

Yahoo "In The News" Headline right now....
Georgetown smothers No. 17 Notre Dame......pretty nice this made the front page (not even the Sports front page) especially since Duke got upset today. Looks like people will start jumping on the Hoya bandwagon again!

FYI - If you missed the game, or just want to watch it again, ESPN has it archived and free during the FullCourt free preview ( direct link). Edited to fix linkThanks for the link (although it seems to have lost that particular link). EDIT: Finally got it to work. Great to see the Hoyas looking so good. The announcers kept saying we were up by 19 in the first half, when we were actually up by 20 at one time, 29-9. Since I was on the road today (coming back from Folsom - free at last ), I could not see, hear, or chat about the win. But it gave me great pleasure to look at the Yahoo boxscore to see how well we did. Seems like the only area where we did do very well was in FT%. Great stats on FG%, 3%, and D (e.g., C. Falls was 1-7 from 3). Great win. Let's keep this up. Off topic, I saw UCLA vs Oregon State yesterday, and was not impressed by UCLA at all. Oregon State was very sloppy, which is why UCLA won.

What a great game!
I just watched it on the ESPN FullCourt Archive. How sweet is that?
Great defense, oustanding 3-pt shooting, and the stars leading the way with Jeff in the liftoff and Roy in the vesper!
Amazing!

Second game in a row where our three leading shot-takers were Hibbert, Green and Wallace. That is clearly the formula for winning. Kudos to them for taking the shots and to the other guys for deferring to them. Really proud of Summers and Macklin and Crawford and Ewing for not forcing things at all and understanding their roles and performing them well.

Awesome game, and an awesome sign (should have been fan of the game) E ven E S herick P ut oN a tie I also enjoyed PE2 whipping the ball at Harangody as PE2 was going out of bounds. I think he has a better arm than Brady Quinn

ANyone notice how well-rounded Sapp's game is right now and how well the overall team defense is right now? Also, Rivers needs to stay inside the arc. Chris Wright was behind the bench.

I also enjoyed PE2 whipping the ball at Harangody as PE2 was going out of bounds. I think he has a better arm than Brady Quinn As great as the Hoyas played on the defensive (best D I've seen from them in a long time) and offensive ends, PEJr's ripping of the ball away from Harangody on the baseline (the force of which threw the Domer to the floor) and then throwing it off the fallen Harangody to save possession was the play of the game for me!!! It was reminiscent of the old school Hoya defense of the 80s and exactly what this team needs to make it to the next level (RDF chime in here and agree with me!)... PS: III may be my homeboy but Nancy Pelosi with a WAG shirt is definitely my homegal!!

The park bench is still reeling with pleasure after watching the Hoya D. "Offense puts fans in the seats, defense wins championships." BTW do the old timers see a similarity between Summers and Maurice Lucas, the old Marquette star and NBA great? To me they look like separated at birth.

"Nancy Pelosi with a WAG shirt is definitely my homegal!!". No longer will I wear my WAG shirt. I've just become a ND fan. Haha, oh please. If Bush put on a We Are Georgetown shirt at a game, I wouldn't have a problem with it! Great game all-around, the only bad things that were glaring for me were FT shooting and turnovers (TO's yet again). But amazing defense, solid rebounding, three-point shooting off the hook, good inside scoring and way to step on their throats and never let them get close after the torrid start. The "We are Georgetown" and "Overrated" chants coming across on TV brought a smile to my face. Big Monday is gonna be fun!

For all the deserved accolades the front line is getting, I submit the Wallace stat line:
36 minutes, 4-8 FG (2-3 3pt), 3-5 FT, 4 rebs, 6 Ast, 2 TO
Outstanding.

Outstanding defensive game for the Hoyas. One of the keys to winning this one is that Wallace got us off to a good 2nd half start after we had let the lead get down to 11. As the announcers said: Wallace scored 8 points in 3 possessions to start the 2nd half. Announcers also said something like "those people who picked Georgetown as 8th in the nation were right and those who are giving them meager support now are wrong". Great win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. The key to the game was, easyed gal-pal, Nancy Pelosi being shown on the jumbotron - we went on a 7-0 run after that - no doubt inspired by Pelosi's determination to put America back on the right track after 12 years of misrule.
