2005-2006 Hoyas, thank you SO MUCH for all that you brought to our home court, to our campus, to our legacy, to our joyous revelry, and to our hearts. You will ALWAYS go down as one of the Georgetown teams that made us proud.
After the game was over, I almost cried happy tears for how great all of you have been. If I could speak for HoyaNation for one moment, I would say you you guys made us all happier than we ever expected to be a few years ago.
Thank you so much.
Always, GO HOYAS

Thank you Ashanti, DJ, Brandon, Amadou and Ryan:
1. For bringing back "Hoya Paranoia;" 2. For making this season the most fun in a long long time; 3. For being such outstanding ambassadors of Hoya basketball both on and off the court; 4. For making Georgetown basketball relevant again; and 5. For leaving such an indelible imprint at the Hilltop.
You will all be sorely missed. We are so very proud of you!!!

This loss hurts. It hurts a Lot. But this kind of hurt is bearable, and far preferable to the unbearable hurt of hopelessness that pervaded this program only two years ago. Brandon, DJ and Ashanti may not have achieved everything they wanted, but they sure accomplished a lot. They brought our HOYAS BACK, with the help of Roy, Jeff, Jon, Jessie and the rest, and under the direction of JT3 and staff. GREAT YEAR I echo the thanks of others. WOW! The Hoyas are back baby, the Hoyas are back!

GAWD I hate the "thank you" thread.
But, all the same, thank you AC, BB, DO, AKD, RB. Really sweet year.

I thought this performance and entire year really typified the state of not only our basketball program but also Georgetown University as a whole. This team, especially the seniors, really showed how a group of talented and passionate individuals can come together under some of the most challenging circumstances and succeed beyond anyone's expectations. As a senior myself, I’ve been through some of the rougher times but I will forever remember and be thankful for what this team has provided me and all of my fellow Hoyas. From my perspective, the cohesion, fluidity and camaraderie of this team seems to have reinvigorated a belief in the same throughout our Georgetown community. Each member of the team and community has contributed to fulfill that potential. We saw it all season long. When we are all at our best, we can compete with anyone. And we’re not done yet. Ryan, Brandon, Ashanti, Amadou and Darrell have reinforced the foundation of this legacy. And I, for one, can’t wait to be a part of its continued success. Hoya saxa…

I just wish it wasn't quite over, yet.
Dang. I missed the last 12 minutes of the game. I got called out to work and just now found out. What a let down.

I've been a Hoya since 1999, and this year's team was my favorite by far. What a joy to watch they were. A big thank you to the seniors and the rest of the Hoya roster. Big thanks to JTIII, too, for coaching this season in the face of a family crisis. III exemplifies what a man should be, and I hope everyone will continue to pray for him and his family.
Best of luck to Ashanti, DJ, Brandon, Ryan, and Amadou, wherever life may take them. Armed with a Georgetown education, I trust they'll go far.

Even though we loss and it hurt, I love that the GU name is out there again. From the banner at the scorers table that had "Georgetown" and Regional Semifinals on it. To constantly watching previews in which GU was mentioned as a good basketball team. To just hearing the GU name from Nance and Packer, just like the way it used to be. GU ball is back and I for one am looking forward to the next ride. Here's to punching the ticket to Atlanta next season and me sitting courtside to watch our beloved Hoyas cutting down the nets. Some of you currents students and younger fans just don't understand how much I truly love Georgetown basketball.

i dunno, clearly theres nothing compared with years of hoya fan-dom, but current students have gotten to endure (just as freshmen): 1. a heartbreaking cuse loss 2. a fabulous cuse win 3. being #1 undefeated duke at home and rushing the court 4. making it to the sweet 16 for hte 1st time in 5 years 5. learning to hate the entire state of florida (at least hte university system), its a good thing we didnt lose to fsu... 6. falling in love with and then losing the seniors 7. after losing, realizing we get new players next year, at least another year w/ hibbert/green and realizing how amazing it will be to be on campus NEXT march
so yea, we may not have quite invested the time into hoya basketball these past years, but this year ran such a gammat of emotions that its just captured the hearst of many a hoya for years to come. thanks guys for letting a whole new generation of realize your amazingness

These seniors, despite the chaos, mayhem, paranoia, fear, loathing, heartbreak, and disappointment in the first two years of their tenure turned around and helped bring optimism, vigor, strength, pride and identity to a program badly needing it. For that, I am proud of these men.
Imagine, a few years ago we couldn't have a "senior day" because of the attrition. Now, a group of fine men leave us in better shape than they encountered us before.

I suppose will see BB and DJ in the league, somewhere. Ashanti prob on the sideline in a suit coaching someones HS then college team. I didn't mean to discredit any young persons experience with GU, it's just GU and I go way back like Incredible Hulk lunch boxes.

Sure, it would have been nice to match Iverson's 96 team by making the elite 8, but who would have imagined the hoyas achieving such results at the beginning of the season? Let's not forget where the program was only 2 seasons ago...
I would like to congratulate Coach, the team and especially the seniors, whom I will miss, for turning this basketball program around and putting Georgetown back on the map! The future looks bright...

need to thank every1 from jt3 to the managers... just pumped about how far we got and how if we coulda got some good bounces we coulda made it the final 4.. but just great season and i think wefinally grabbed alot of the publics respect for this young team... gotta say bye to cook, dj, and bb-hate to have djs last year the missed 3 that coulda put us on top.. but they gave us their all and am especially happy that bb got out of his slump b4 the final buzzer.. just a great job tonight.
for the future, it looks brighter than it ever has been. with the 3 big mean coming in, added in with green and hibbs-its really going to be sick and add in rivers, this team is gonna be something next year and on...

Thanks to Ashanti, Brandon and DJ for their contributions. Without them Gtown wouldn't have made the tourney. Walk with your heads high, sirs. Thanks to other seniors like Amadou for all the time and effort they put in. Thanks to Sead for typically being the first to stand up from the bench to applaud. Thanks to "Little Patrick" for bringing it during oractice and being the world's greatest cheerleader on the bench. Can't wait to see you on the court, where you belong, next season. Thanks to the underclassmen such as Tyler, Jessie and Marc for contributing off the bench. Lets not forget Josh "THE DAGGER" Thornton and Octavious. Keep working guys and I'm sure you'll be getting much run next season. Big shoutout to the Foundation: Jeff, Roy and Jon. Enough can't be said about you guys. You have been both the present and the future. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thanks to future players who had the wisdom to sign/commit to the Hoyas. That means Jeremiah, DaJuan, Vernon and Austin. And maybe another player or two. Thanks to Pops. Thanks to Barker and Camille for keeping us informed all year long. F you to the rest of the local media who ignored the Hoyas all year long...even after they made the Sweet Sixteen. Heck, thanks to Doyell too! Huge THANK YOU to JTIII for turning around the program faster than anyone had reason to expect. III is one of the best young coaches in the game and he proved that success is more about who is running the program rather than facilities and big athletic budgets. With all the stuff he has had to deal with and plus the success of the team, III is my Coach of the Year. Easily. Its a shame the media talked more about Bruce Pearl than it did JT. Thanks to the coaching assistants for their instruction, recruiting and support. Thanks to the trainers and managers too. Thanks to the Gtown students who gave the Hoyas a true homecourt advantage for the first tme in years. You guys rock! Thanks to Coach K for never switching to the zone. Thanks to Rich for being Rich. And a God Bless you to Monica Thompson and the strength she displayed this season in the face of adversity. III would have likely taken a break from coaching this season if that was what she wanted but she insisted otherwise. I just know she will be alright and have a long life but I will pray for her anyway. Thanks to all the Hoya fans posting on all the Hoya boards. It was a fun year, guys.

Here’s the day I always dread – the first day of the off season. I’m in full-blown withdrawal already ! Like everyone else I’d like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all involved in making this past Hoya season a memorable one, including the players, coaches, staff and their families. You all did yourselves proud. To those departing soon, I’ll long remember the pleasure you brought to me as a Hoya fan. You made a huge difference in helping me find a happy diversion from what is too often a difficult world. Good luck and Godspeed to you as you move forward with the next chapter in your life. To those returning, y’all I CAN’T WAIT ‘TIL NEXT SEASON!! Your efforts this year have me salivating at the prospects of what is to come. I know that nothing is promised, but I love your chances at re-establishing Georgetown basketball at the pinnacle of the college game. Keep up the great work. And have fun doing it….. Again, thank you ;D .
