In response to the bitch-slap just given me by Admin, fine... I'll take it easy on the poster "UNIbball," even though his handle is dangerously close to suggesting he's half a man.
However, I reserve the right to unleash the trash talking tumult should he attempt to comment on Hoya hoops itself.

I think that the correct description would be that Buff "took it without lube".

I know everyone seems to be wondering how UNI's Coleman at 6'6" is going to guard Roy. Well he has an enormous wing span which makes him much taller.
My concern is how will Roy Guard Coleman. I have seen him and he is a leaper and very, very quick. He could give Roy fits with the ball. My prediction. UNI will go right at Roy and Roy will go at Coleman from the beginning. I am not sure that roy will be able to guard Colemen. Unfortunately, we may have to use Jeff Greene on Coleman.
Even if coleman scores on Roy, if Coleman gets into foul trouble, then UNI is in trouble, big time.

After reading up and getting the same sense, I think there's a > 50% chance we go small in this game quite a bit. If Coleman is too quick, III will pull Roy. That doesn't bother me. We're a different team, but not necessarily worse. Other options include just going to zone or putting Roy on Stout and letting Jeff take Coleman.

We are talking about Roy, right? Big? Yes. Athletic? Now hold on a minute! Ha Ha! AGH! What, he doesn't remind you of Patrick the way he glides across the floor? The way he leaps for those shot blocks? hmmm More like.. say... Mike Frazier? But I do think Jersey may be right that Roy is AT LEAST 7'2 I think he's taller. Even standing next to Jeff and the other tall guys on our team, he looks a LOT taller. WIN THE FIRST ONE -- v. N. IOWA!!! missed this last night - man, the first reference to my namesake in a long, long time. At 7 feet,Mike had a nice touch from 12-15 feet, not bad on the boards, but dunked maybe twice in the time I saw him. Still, he gave all he had, that's why my friends and I became the Frazier Fanatics.

I'll be under the knife on Friday, so I'll miss the game. Here's hoping St. Patty's Day is kind to both the team and me. Wishing you all the best with the op., and a HOYA victory to help with the recovery!

SirSaxa,
You don't know how unhappy I was at hearing when we'd be playing. Now the Hoyas can't lose. Not when I'll be totally out of it. That's no way to end the season!
Looks like we'll be in for a real "muscle tussle" Friday. This one'll probably be played in the fifties. I'll go with 57 - 54, G-town.

Avant Guard, I hope your surgery goes well. We'll pray for you, and the Hoyas will take home the W in your honor!

Hey guys, I haven't seen many UNI folks stop over here. I've been reading your comments since the pairing was announced. It sounds like it should be an interesting game with the different style offense G-town employs and the match-up at the center position.
It's great to see resurgence in G-town basketball. I had the opportunity to be on the G-town campus one summer for a debate and speech institute while in high school and actually walked past Patrick Ewing. I swear he was the biggest human I've ever seen.
Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and wish you luck. Our Panthers were playing lights out earlier in the year but have had hit a bit of a skid lately. The Panthers have some big wins and are capable of a great game. I know for the seniors on the UNI team this will be their third consecutive year at the NCAA Tournament and they surely will not be satisfied with merely making the Tournament this year.
Again, best of luck. Let's hope for no injuries and an evenly officiated game. My prediction, 52-50 Panthers.

I'm just over the 'Burg city line, near Four Mile Fork. No wonder I supported you in the ballroom dance brouhaha . Don't y'all start nothin', now....

I'm off Catharpin rd, about 15 miles west of Four Mile Fork, which makes for quite a commute but I love the area so it's worth it!
As someone said, cue up CDB, the Hoyas are dancin'!

I don't know about that prediction, pantherswin. Roy Hibbert has taken the advice that has been offered on a different thread on this board and has been seen on campus with a midget dressed in a gorilla suit hanging from his neck! Word has it that every time the big man reaches for something the little human doles out swats the likes of which have never been seen!
based on this sighting, I am going to respectfully disagree with your prediction and say that the men in gray triumph by more than 2 points.

I have only seen UNI play 3 times over the past 3 seasons--- the 2004 Georgia Tech NCAA game, the 2005 Wisconsin NCAA game and this year's "bracket buster" game against Bucknell. In your opinion, which of the 3 UNI teams is the strongest? I thought the 2004 team was a much better outside shooting team than the team I saw against Bucknell this year. If it wasn't for the play of Coleman, who was awesome in the post, Bucknell would have won by 5-10 points. The 2004 team was the strongest as they had two post players at the time Gruber and Schniederman who both were seniors but we still had ben jacobson, little, crawford, and mckowen. Stout plays very similar to schniederman but coleman isnt as polished as gruber, who was also an undersiezed center at 6'6. There was also another guard, chris foster who helped run the show but was coming of knee injuries and couldnt really contribute in the GT game. last year coleman being a FR and Stout only a SO was definately the weakest of the three teams...My rating is: 2004,2006,2005 in that order. The difference between 04 and 06 is getting less and less by the game.

After looking over some of the vistor info for Dayton, I'm actually thinking that Bosie is a lot more fun then Ohio Actually, Boise is often hailed as the best place to cover a regional or sub-regional by sportswriters. Apparently its a party town. I heard the Humanitarian Bowl trip (MPC Computers) was a massive party when Clemson went a few years ago - even more so than during March because the weather was so cold and snowy there was nothing to do but drink or ride snowmobiles.

We need to beat UNI, if solely because this school graduated the author of the book "The Bridges of Madison County".
And that just ain't right.
