Just to be clear, neither school is offering him "NIL". They're both offering to pay him illegally. Important to clarify and stop the lies. So he would instantly be top 5 earner in the whole University? Something’s way out of whack…. Elvado, I have to agree with you 100%. As passionate a sports fan that I am, what these athletes and coaches are earning these days is way, way over the top and is only getting worse with time. Amateur sports going to the highest bidder has some irony written into it. And yes, I'm not naive enough to avoid playing the game, but you don't have to like it. As you well know college FB coaches have long been the highest paid employees at universities. Just not right.

It's not NIL. Stop calling it that. Just using the acronym, it's obviously pay-for-play, just way easier to type out NIL. I suggest P4P.

If I were the government I’d have a field day with this. The same schools that not only receive federal money, but then have the audacity to charge ridiculously high tuitions that must be funded by government backed loans are now spending millions to bribe high school athletes? Yea… I’d be pulling all funding with immediate effect. They can spend the Hunter Dickinson money on a financial aid program instead.

Sadly, Karl Marx predicted this nearly 200 years ago:
“Everlasting uncertainty and agitation distinguish the bourgeois epoch from all earlier ones,” he wrote. “All fixed, fast-frozen relations, with their train of ancient and venerable prejudices and opinions, are swept away, all new-formed ones become antiquated before they can ossify. All that is solid melts into air, all that is holy is profaned.”

Correct me if I'm wrong, but businesses (boosters) are giving the NIL money to the players, not to the school. The school facilitates that connection and knows how much is available. Therefore, the Hunter Dickinson money is not available for a GU financial aid program.

Podcast drops at 4 pm.
He has a red DeMatha shirt on. Guess Maryland was able to buy him for the $2 mil per year.

Ugh....hard to like this guy. It would be almost acceptable if, in his heart, he had conflicts between several schools that he loved. But I think only his wallet is conflicted.

Not a single mention of Georgetown during the podcast. Coach Cooley should just shut this down and move on.

Doesn’t seem like Georgetown is in the running. They only mentioned MD Kansas Kentucky & Nova.

Drama queen media darling - would fit in perfectly with Cooley. You are a self-hating insecure troll. I am not sure why you spend 18 hours a day on a message board, which alone says it all, but you need to be thrown out, and probably for your own good. Certainly for Georgetown's.

He told the coaches that he would decide by today. We can’t wait any longer cause we have 9 days to fill roster spots.
You would think they would at least mention the visit here or if we were still in the running since Cooley was on the podcast but we must have taken ourselves out of the running and said no thanks.
Coach Ed said he wants people who really really want to be at Georgetown. Hunter doesn’t seem to really really want to be at any of the schools, he’s conflicted. So he fails that first test.
Better to move on and go after the North Dakota 7 footer or other centers. Get them signed while the other 4 schools are still locked up waiting for Hunter and can’t make a move on other bigs.

He told the coaches that he would decide by today. We can’t wait any longer cause we have 9 days to fill roster spots. The transfer portal closes for new entries in nine days, but it does not close for those in the portal: once in, a transfer can be anytime until the start of fall classes. In 2022, nearly a third of men's basketball scholarship entrants to the portal (32%) did not sign with a new school, transferred to NAIA or JC, or simply left the sport. www.ncaa.org/sports/2022/4/25/transfer-portal-data-division-i-student-athlete-transfer-trends.aspx
