We are DOA for this tournament and that includes the coaching staff. We lose by 15+, termination happens following day. Having lost most of my season winnings on betting that the Hoyas could stay within 18 points of Creighton, I'm very interested to see the spread for the Nova game. Since February 8th, Nova is 6-2 in the Big East and is playing much better. I didn't see yesterday's loss to UConn ... but in general Nova is headed in the right direction. Villanova is likely on the outside looking in .. but if they can make the finals of the Big East -- and I think they've beaten every team in the brackets to get there -- they'll be 19-16, 10-10 in BE and 3-1 in BE Tournament ... seems like they might have a little more to play for than the Hoyas ... here's hoping for a 25 point spread ....

Is there a media day for the Big East tournament? If so, will Coach Ewing show up for it? I am wondering just how awkward Georgetown and the Administration can make this dragged-out inevitable firing.

Everyone seems to think it’s a foregone conclusion that Ewing isn’t back next year - don’t get me wrong - I think his time should end. I just don’t think it’s a guarantee the university does it.
I love g town. And the b ball team. Ewing is and will likely always be our best ever player. I wish he had done better as coach. But he should move on, agreed.
But why does everyone think the administration is definitely going to do it. I just don’t think they will candidly

So why even play the game? Maybe Georgetown should just forfeit.

I don’t have confidence the school forces him out.

So why even play the game? Maybe Georgetown should just forfeit. That would be a good way to humiliate Ewing on the way out.

I stand by my comment. I don’t have confidence the school forces him out. It will be by "mutual agreement" of course. But the simple fact that as far as anyone can tell there has been no serious recruiting for months says everything we need to know. Keeping Patrick would mean outright revolt by the fan base - organized protests, slashed booster support, attendance figures in the low hundreds, and constant media ridicule.

If he somehow stayed then I'd be done, block all alumni "outreach" emails about anything, and I will just get my master's from somewhere sporty and just forget this nightmare ever existed

So why even play the game? Maybe Georgetown should just forfeit. Georgetown has played multiple games this year that they had no chance of winning. Why not play 1 more?

So why even play the game? Maybe Georgetown should just forfeit. A forfeit would bring even more unwanted attention to the abysmal state of the program. Also, we would face significant punishment from the Conference.

So why even play the game? Maybe Georgetown should just forfeit. It’s called a contractual obligation Tickets are sold, the garden is booked, the broadcasting rights have been sold. Unfortunately, Georgetown has to play. Stupid contractual commitments

Whether it’s a mutual agreement or not the board does not care about the fanbase protesting.
