This assumes that the kids don't like Ewing and are aware of how bad of a coach he actually is. Knowing that you are losing games and knowing exactly why you are losing those games aren't mutually exclusive. These players might actually like this style of play. If I was 18-22yrs old and was one of the 7 players that plays I would love this style. It's impossible that they are not aware how bad their coach is. These guys have all been at a high level for years and they know what good coaching is and I guarantee you they all feel sick the first time they get behind the curtain, hear the nonsense that Ewing spews, and wonder how they made such a massive mistake. Ewing's idiocy and the player's reaction to it has been obvious from the beginning. Akinjo ignoring Ewing seemed like insubordination at the time but, with the benefit of hindsight, looks like a guy trying to overcome incompetence and save his team. I'm not sure 9797, I've seen so many bad HS coaches that get over on individual talent. Actually we look like most of the HS during my time in high school. I can confirm that AI wasn't coached in HS.

You would like playing on a team that doesn't share the ball? I find that hard to believe Zeke But they actually do share the ball. Just not in a productive, cohesive manner. Primo gets a turn, Brandon gets a turn, Jay gets a turn, Q gets a turn....etc. I'm not saying it's fun losing but I did enjoy playing pickup bball when I used to play🤷🏾♂️ That's not sharing the ball, that's sharing the shots which is a big difference in my mind.

I remember one play against Creighton where the team actually shared the ball resulting in an open corner 3 by Mozone IIRC. That was pretty to see but oh so rare.

Come on, don’t treat these guys like idiots. They know this is a disaster and they know their coach is a moron.

Etomic I'm just kidding. I realize that we don't share the ball. I'm just stating that I'm not sure that our players with their "get mine" mentality really care if their coach isn't designing plays to get easy shots. I bet they believe that they're good enough to get easy shots on their own. And when you have a pickup bball mentality I'm not sure if you realize that a crossover stepback J over someone 3" taller isn't a good shot?

20 plus days until? My bet is nothing happening w/ Ewing. Don't think JD has the cajones. If so, he'll hire someone within the "family" and it will be wash, rinse, repeat in perpetuity. Sorry, after 40 plus years of being a fan I've become quite cynical.....

Sorry, after 40 plus years of being a fan I've become quite cynical..... Left to his own devices, I would agree with you on DeGioia, but I think even if he resists, his hand will be forced by the dire status of the program and Board influence. I know, I know, one could have said the same thing after last season (when DeGioia should have acted). Hilltop Hoops has reported this as a done deal, essentially. If true, it really is just a matter of time. To me, the bigger question is how DeGioia will go about filling the spot, and whether Ronny sticks around. And the latter will have a huge influence on the former.

I suspect DeGioia probably trying to find a consultant-type job for Ronny, and perhaps others currently on staff, where their responsibilities are even more nebulous.
