I hope they go easy on us I want a blow out because Pat excuses 13-point losses as close games.

We may eventually win a BE game. The laws of probability say so. It won’t change the downward trajectory of the program. It was going to take a monumental failure to remove the best ever Hoya as coach, yet here we are.

I'm still not understanding what is mentioned in the film room. Every time our bigs get the ball we are double/triple teamed and there is no pass to the wide open shooters. This game is winnable in my opinion -if we have not given up. We should have the rebound advantage.

He just doesn’t have the capacity and clearly hasn’t been instructed to do so.

And to compound his inability to pass it out, he insists on trying to dribble through the double team or throw up a prayer in the general direction of the hoop. Regression.

The worst thing that could possibly happen right now is to win this game. So that’s probably exactly what will happen. I shutter to imagine the things that will come spewing out of Ewing’s mouth

We have a flawed model of playing our starters way too many minutes. This almost guarantees a weak finish and compounds as the season wears on. This includes chances of injury which we can’t afford to sustain. This is just one of a number of bad approaches.

Ewing's offensive scheme trades 3s for 2s - are a guaranteed way to lose in 2023. We can't defend the 3, we can't make the 3 and take mid-range 2s. Result: losing.

The coaches is fair game. It’s the other way around. If a blowout hurries Pat’s dismissal, then that is what’s best for the players. I’ll always respect the players because Pat’s s—-show is not their fault.

The coaches is fair game. The only guys I’m reluctant to root against barely, if ever, play. Don’t care much about the rest of them. I hope this one makes the Butler game look like it came down to the wire.

Riley & Anglin should get minutes again and now they just have to do something with them. Neither looked comfortable out there in limited minutes. I haven't watched a minute of Nova this year. Dixon will stretch Q so I wouldn't play him much if at all. Daniels is the guy to close out on and deny all game.
They have played two tough BE teams to start and they beat some OK teams. My guess is this should be a competitive game but after Butler, I just don't know what to expect. They weren't good and gave us the business so who knows.

Are we at the point where a close loss equals a victory? I certainly hope not.

Georgetown has had a history of ruining my day since the 80's and regardless of the turmoil, I will always consider Georgetown Nova's biggest rival (at least for me personally). My very first game I saw Villanova play in was a 52-50 loss to Georgetown in the regular season of 1985. Countless defeats in the 80's, 90's. The worst loss was a a 108-66 loss to the Hoyas in 1996 in Bendover Maryland. (I won't call it Landover). Bought brand new TV's in the past on sales and was perfect for the Georgetown game, Yeah another Georgetown win, I think that was in the 2006-2007 season where Georgetown hit game winning free throws with no time left on the clock and not even going to mention the Big East Tournament on Georgetown's last win and their eventual run through the Big East. I don't like seeing how that program has taken such a step down and it's a shame considering the tradition of that program. I would wish you luck but I would be lying and was almost hoping you would knock off Butler because the brain kept thinking, I don't want these deleted beating Nova on Wednesday night. Personally, I think you deserve better and if this was any other school, Ewing would have been sent packing years ago. I may watch one of my Villanova-Georgetown games that I have in my collection. I hope you get a win soon but not this Wednesday.

and oh as for Villanova, It is looking like a program resembling the Lappas years of the 90's, I remember those teams well. The Nova Jay Wright dynasty has ended at least for this year and this resembles more of a Steve Lappas team from the 90s.
