Assuming Dante Harris is officially no longer with the program, we'd have an open scholarship this year, correct? "So let’s look at possible scenarios for Miranda. The four-star goes to college. He takes a few more official visits during his year at So Cal Academy, makes a decision during the late signing period, and goes to college after the school year. A second option for Miranda is going pro. Because Miranda graduated high school as part of the 2022 class, and this is a post-graduate year or a gap year, he will be eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft. He could go through the NBA Draft process and either get drafted or sign as an undrafted free agent. Numerous NBA personnel have been in to see Miranda already this season. This would also include a G-League Ignite option; if they were to step forward with an offer, Miranda would be open and eligible for this route. There is also a third option, an option to watch closely. It is a combination of the first two; Miranda could enroll at a college of choice mid-year. This is the route Shaedon Sharpe took last year at Kentucky. Miranda going this route would put him back in his original 2022 class. It would also keep him eligible for the 2023 NBA Draft. With some recent smoke around option three, things would have to move quickly. A player would technically be able to start playing/practicing for his school of choice after the school’s first semester ends." www.on3.com/news/isaiah-miranda-recruiting-update-louisville-texas-oregon-rhode-island/

"CASSIDY: The recruitment of Issiah Miranda retains some mystery even at this late stage. USC has long been seen as a player, but Miranda seems to be a little more open these days than he was months ago. The 7-footer recently visited Louisville, which seems to be making an aggressive late move. The Cardinals, Trojans and pro options are the most likely options these days, but I’m not quite confident enough to venture a guess on which of the three will ultimately win out." basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals-roundtable-is-dj-wagner-a-kentucky-lock-

The 7-foot-1 big man, who is in his post-graduate year, is expected to arrive on campus on Monday and begin practicing with the team right away in preparation for the second semester. “I have a personal commitment to work and they have a culture of work,” Miranda said. “Coach Keatts and his staff have a great history of developing pros and I fit into their playing style because they’re fast paced, they have a lot of pick-and-roll action, and play great defense.”

Wow, that was fast. Ewing/Nickleberry & Co. lose 2 of their top 3 class of 2023 recruiting targets to fellow hot seat Coach Kevin Keatts.

Nothing crazy here from a Georgetown perspective - why would any recruit sign on with Georgetown right now? The coaching situation is such a complete mess: either you are signing on with a coach who could be fired at any moment (in a normal program). Or you are signing on with a coach who essentially has not won a meaningful game since March 2021, but who is going to continue coaching for another 3+ seasons because the institution is dysfunctional when it comes to the basketball program
Even going to play for another coach on the hot seat (Keatts) still makes infinitely more sense than coming to Georgetown right now.

Lose a HS recruit and get another recruit in the TP. TP is the right accompaniment to what a steaming pile of sh*t this program as become.
