Let’s see, we hired the best big man in the history of the program to coach. Surprisingly, he can’t recruit bigs. Therefore, we go with a guard heavy lineup.

Let’s see, we hired the best big man in the history of the program to coach. Surprisingly, he can’t recruit bigs. Therefore, we go with a guard heavy lineup. Ewing brought in Yurtseven and Q. Ryan was a 4 star. Tre King was a decent get (until it wasn't). Not sure whether Pickett and Bile would be considered "bigs", but if we brought in two forwards with their skill set for next season, things would look a bit rosier. So, while he hasn't brought in any 5* frosh bigs, the narrative he hasn't recruited any bigs is not quite accurate either. There is still plenty of time for the staff to bring in some bigs for next season. Just because Anselem and Reid didn't pop for the Hoyas, doesn't mean there aren't still a ton of Cs and PFs hanging out in the portal. I would be very shocked if the only bigs we have come November are Ryan and Malcolm. No idea who it will be or if what we get will be enough to turn things around. But let's see where things by the end of the month and then we can more accurately assess how desperate the front court issues are for next year.

We need starter bigs, not just bodies.

A zone (1-3-1) (coaches are scared to try this defense) will work with Malcom and Ryan and three competent combo guards. A team with Ryan and Malcolm as our only bigs will win 1-2 BE games max. Yes, that's probably true. But hey, that's an infinite improvement over this year. Progress!

Hilltop Hoops reported that G’Town offered Ward a $200k NIL package, but it wasn’t as much as LSU’s. Whether that’s true, who really know, but if that’s the kind of money we CAN offer, there’s no excuse why we can’t go after Mballa, or an Osunniyi and possibly land them. Akot and one of those two, and we’re in business. Our guards/wings are actually pretty strong — but we’ll need the Jay Heath waiver. Am I missing something? We cannot legally offer anything other than a schollie to a recruit, right?

It’s shady but they haven’t cracked down yet.

You're correct and it doesn't seem to be stopping Ewing. This is a serious allegation. What do you know? There's a Hilltop Hoops article out there saying that we made a $200K NIL offer and that we were making NIL bids to a player before he committed. I'm sure there will be ten people arguing that there are ways to make that okay and not pay for play and maybe they just connected the player with a number of opportunities, but I've read The Blueprint guidelines, and it seems like it's against everything Georgetown laid out for itself.

"In speaking with people close to Tyrell Ward’s camp" "Hoya fans have been quick to fall back on the “L$U” tagline to explain away losing another talented recruit to the Tigers, but multiple sources since Saturday have said that Georgetown offered an NIL package to Ward in the neighborhood of $200,000" OMG "In speaking with people close to Tyrell Ward's camp" Holy Pentagon Papers, Batman!!! Hilltop Hoops seems to have finagled relationships with multiple people close to Tyrell Ward's camp! This could be, omg this is crazy, I mean, this could freakin' be that waiter who worked where Tyrell's cousin had his birthday party a month or so ago! He was chill! This could be that young lady who gets her hair done at the exact same salon as Tyrell's girlfriend! They're really friendly! I almost feel like I'm in the room with Tyrell, this is some serious Pulitzer expose kinda . As if that wasn't enough, "multiple sources since Saturday" Damning I would prefer, of course, if Hilltop had dozens or even hundreds of sources, I mean, might as well, right? But yea, sure, wow. that is just the kind of ironclad proof I need to accuse Patrick Ewing and Georgetown University of cheating at basketball.

Are the Hoyas willing to entertain the idea of bringing back Wahab?

Everything you need to know about the sad, sorry state of HT is summed up in our “where’s the big man” thread containing ZERO reference to our newly signed 4/5 with BEast experience and shot blocking skills. It’s peak HT, to whine and wail about perceived errors and omissions and ignore the solutions.
Now back your regularly scheduled kvetching.

Are the Hoyas willing to entertain the idea of bringing back Wahab? Wahab’s handler made a disparaging comment against the program just the other day, so I’m not holding my breath for a return.

Doesn’t matter if his guardian/handler is not involved anymore.

Is miracles suggesting that we are not playing the NIL game? There really are no rules. Just look at what is going on in Miami right now.The Ward story is absolutely true. And those who believe in win at all costs within the rules should be happy that Georgetown is competing in this arena.

Georgetown cannot “offer” 200k within the rules, right? “Georgetown” in the literal sense, can’t, but Georgetown Basketball in the broader that encompasses NILs, can. I hate NILs but we have a big budget high major basketball program, and we are undoubtedly working within the system. I don’t think LSU did anything wrong here either. You should read about what Texas A&M did this year in football recruiting — Probably the greatest class of all time due to being the most advanced in working the NIL system. brobible.com/sports/article/texas-am-recruiting-class-nil-money/
