Oh man...I had always admired Chris as a player-beyond tough- but this journey he and his family are traveling....what a fine human being. And props to JT3.

I hadn't known that treatments had improved that significantly and that Chris has responded so well to them. I couldn't be happier for him. And, for the fact that he found the love of his life and built a family and has been on such a crazy and interesting journey. I teared up reading that article. It's nice to be reminded that, sometimes, things work out really well for really good people. Hoya Saxa, Mr. Wright. If you ever want to assume that teaching role, I hope that whatever resentments you have toward Georgetown at this point aren't enough to keeping you from coming home to the Hilltop.

You know the old saying, "They couldn't pour p*ss out of boot if the instructions were on the heel."

You know the old saying, "They couldn't pour p*ss out of boot if the instructions were on the heel." The thing is in any other program, the person who does the tweeting probably would have RT'd it the second it came out and wouldn't have thought twice about it because it would have put a smile on their face and sharing it would have made them feel good. This isn't about people not knowing how to do something, or not finding the time. In this program, I think retweets have to go by RT, and even though this article puts both JT3 and Georgetown in a completely flattering light both in the way that JT3 cares about his former players and how Georgetown is a center of medical excellence, whoever runs the account can't tweet it because there's probably some nonsense grudge or something going on with the people above them on the org chart. Not being able to recruit locally is completely tied to little things like this.

The article was buried at the bottom of the Hoya Saxa Central newsletter emailed out yesterday afternoon.

I can't fathom any reason why Georgetown wouldn't want to promote and highlight a stellar representative of both the school and the program like Chris Wright. I know that the University is not great at fostering relationships after people graduate (except for the calls for donations) but, when you have a person like Chris who has had the adversity that he has and persevered like he has, that sort of thing should be promoted and celebrated. Also, MS aside, he's a Hoya and a great one at that. And, he's a local guy. How many boxes does a person have to check to get a little love from his alma mater?

Yeah the only possibility for not promoting that article is if Chris said something at some point they didn’t like. Which I doubt because he’s been such a great ambassador for the university. But I genuinely cannot fathom why they otherwise wouldn’t promote this unless they just didn’t want to retweet something from ESPN.

Does this oversight really prompt surprise? Reggie Williams has mentioned on more than one occasion (including on the podcast he cohosted some years back) how he feels frozen out of the program despite his formidable contributions as a player - that has yet to be properly addressed and remedied. Par for the course.

Not in any way that remotely justifies being frozen out, but probably enough to be PNGed by the TAC.

That's my recall as well but Wright is certainly no Fred Brown who IIRC was really highly critical of the program and Pops particularly.
