While this is true, the HoyaSaxa Central newsletter only reaches an audience limited to those already invested in Hoya sports, right? Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't retweeting have the potential to engage a larger audience?

I don't understand the instinct to give the basketball program a pass on stuff like this because the Athletic Department managed to put it in an email. In a nutshell, that's kind of what we've been pointing to all season - the Athletics Department can manage sports well like soccer and lacrosse, and yet we have this silo for our flagship sport that acts like this.

Again, not my point. The hoops program SHOULD retweet it.

Meh. I don’t think “evil” is the adjective being bandied around in most cases. Inept, careless, uncaring, arrogant … I’m not a Wordle guy but probably many more.

If your point that the "evil" is hyperbole, I don't disagree although I may have fallen into that hyperbole at times myself borne out of frustration. My point is more about the competence of the basketball program in communications and engaging not only current fans but also potential fans beyond the core base of those who follow Hoya basketball.

I think this is less of a communications issue and more of an issue about how "the family" has all the alumni divided up into castes, mostly based on perceived loyalty and status. Greg Monroe and Jahvon Blair get retweets, Chris Wright gets ignored.

Don’t say anything bad about the family or you will be banished. Also, who writes Pat’s tweets? It’s very clearly not him.

In what crazy world does Ronny, the least of the Thompsons, wield such power? Last Thompson standing?

Stop. No one is saying the program is EVIL. We are asking for basic levels of competence from the program we support. Frankly, we should be getting more than basic levels of competence, but you have to start somewhere. They are not even close to doing the bare minimum.

Every aspect of the program is 0-20.

His podcast has been critical of the program. Not in any way that remotely justifies being frozen out, but probably enough to be PNGed by the TAC. That's my recall as well but Wright is certainly no Fred Brown who IIRC was really highly critical of the program and Pops particularly. No question. While I wrote "critical," perhaps a better choice of words would have been "not sycophantic."

I am absolutely saying this is about mean-spiritedness and pettiness and not about competence. I may be wrong about this - I'm just going by what Austin has tweeted recently, but whose NBA jersey do they refuse to hang on the wall? This isn't "oops" stuff or a coincedence.

Given that the public isn't even allowed on that floor of the building, it's largely left to anecdotal accounts, but from past discussions the jerseys not on that wall include the following: 1. Nine NBA jerseys of Georgetown players who played prior to 1972. 2. One ABA jersey prior to 1972 (OK, it's a very obscure reference.) 3. Transfers (Jones, Tucker, Turner, Macklin, Benimon, Whittington, McClung) 4. Limited contracts (Wright, Derrickson, Pickett) Adding McClung and Pickett this year, there should be 49, and it's nowhere close to that. www.hoyabasketball.com/history/nba.htm

Yes, hyperbole plays well here, but the protests in response are certainly interesting. The word “corruption” is tossed out here quite often with little proof of the allegation. Guess that’s OK?
Meanwhile….

Adding the old ones would probably add some variety/fun to the display. (If anyone actually got to see them.)
