Rice is shooting .397 on threes this year, which is pretty darn good, but the obvious concern is that I’d rather have him go 4 for 10 about every game rather than 7 for 10 one game and 1 for 10 the next.
I knew he was a bomber, but I did not realize that he has only taken 20 shots inside the line all year.

I hope -- perhaps forlornly -- that we will fix against St. John's the fundamental flaw that I think is our most significant failing so far: passing. As I posted after attending our back-to-back humiliations in Anaheim, we just don't move the ball the way successful teams do consistently. (Admittedly, there are serious related problems, like not moving without the ball, and throwing the ball at, as opposed to passing the ball to, teammates, but the lack of effective ball movement is a primary root cause of so much that infects the Hoyas offense). This means that: (1) Dante comes down and hurls up a three -- for him, a low percentage shot -- rather than looking to start a weave or perimeter ball movement; (2) Mo tries a bull rush toward the basket outnumbered three-to-one, and either gets stuffed or tosses up a prayer in the general direction of the hoop, instead of passing out of the triple team; or (3) Kaiden quick-draws a contested three, rather than getting a pass once he's gotten at least a little free of a defender, usually missing badly in the process. I can't count the number of empty trips we've had the last two games as a result of one of these scenarios. Maybe the staff isn't teaching this stuff, or maybe the players aren't listening, but either way if this doesn't get fixed, I don't see us ever getting out of the ditch we're in. For me, tomorrow is the test, whether we're i00% healthy or not.

Wins and losses go on Pat's record. Unlike Duke where wins go to K and losses to his hapless replacements…

As I said in another thread, despite my current feelings about where things are I'm heading to MSG this afternoon. Just can't stay away.

Not sure I can cure the affliction affecting FHillsNYHoya. I'm very curious to see what the crowd will be like. The last time I attended a BE regular season game at MSG v. SJU we had a miraculous comeback on Super Bowl Sunday. OTOH, the last time I attended a BET game at MSG v. SJU....yikes.

What’s the over- under on the number of shots of Big John and Louie on the broadcast? Sweaters?
Pat’s not there, so no “return of Pat to MSG” story lines. They will have to dig deep.

Or the first time someone dives for a loose ball or there's a hard foul, get ready for the "now this is some old-school Big East basketball between two long-time rivals"...

Good God, the "Last 10 Posts" page has become an unending echo chamber of comments from boya, 9797, BLT and maybe a few others. It's bad enough to follow this team this season, but the board here used to offer some outlet for entertainment. It's now a cesspool of negativity dominated by the same handful of posters. Well done, guys.
And yes, I agree it's time to move on from Ewing. But the need to keep making sure there's a turd floating in the punch bowl at all times by those posters is tiresome. They're like the beefeaters at The Tower of London - always, unflinchingly on guard with a solid turd.

C'mon Hoyas- we could really use a win today! Wish I could be there!

They're like the beefeaters at The Tower of London - always, unflinchingly on guard with a solid turd. Fair enough. I will take some of the blame as a negative poster lately but the frustration has boiled over to a point of no return. Tough to really be into analyzing a pointless game against SJ today, so it’s frustrating that enjoyment has been taken away. Coming to this board right now and expecting the conversation to be on anything other than Ewing is like asking Mrs Lincoln for a review of the play at Ford’s Theatre. Is it repetitive? Definitely. But the greatest fear is that the status quo stays the same and probably thus the need to double down on the negativity to maybe elicit something other than apathy from the school and whatever fans are left. At this point feels like that is the bigger story around Georgetown basketball and unfortunately not any game left on the schedule. Will I watch today? Of course. Does the outcome matter one way or the other? Not at all. So if more time and energy is spent focusing on the bigger picture, I apologize if that annoys you, and I agree it gets tiresome, but it’s also the reality of the situation and the dominant story involving the program.

People wanted 5th year option seniors to not come back so the new kids on the block could "not be stunted in their development/go through growing pains". Well, now we have the space for the development with them gone, but you just can't expect same level of play (and the level of play last year wasn't overall great either). So I am not surprised by the current record, just disappointed by some lack of fundamentals still (cutting, shot selection, defense awareness, etc). I still cant quite tell what we do on offense, and thats not good, and commentator said that in last game. Rice perplexes me, as does Aminu pulling a Wahab and once he gets the ball and collapses defense he doesnt look for the easy assist (although to be fair teammamtes need to anticipate it too. He did seem to concentrate on passing it out at end of last game which I appreciated. Dante has not been strong this year overall, which really puts a lot of pressure on the new guys to perform even better. We dont really have a tall well-rounded wing, but otherwise some pieces of talent. I think if Jbill steps up a lot more in conference play we will be much better off but that is a lot to ask. This is what I wanted Jester but it is painful to watch and experience. I just believe if all of the 5yr options come back we no better than middle of the BE and very little chance of more with the freshmen going forward. I still would rather have a year like this with the younguns getting experience than a okay year led by 5yr guys. Losing Jordan messed up a lot of what I wanted to happen. A lot of my 22-23 hopes were pinned to Jordan being a Otto lite in year 2.....

If the games keep going as badly as they’re going, you better buckle up for what’s coming.

In any event, booing indicates the fans care. No attendance and apathy means they have given up.
