Rice has a bit of a hesitation / hitch in his release on the first 2 shots. Needs to just settle in.

Rice what on earth was that shot? Are you joking? Then jacks up another with 20 seconds on the shot clock. Painful.

I just get this feeling that if Kaiden Rice hits 2 or 3 early 3s and doesn't put an 0-for-lots half up, we're gonna win. That 3-point threat against the Cuse zone can make all the difference. But he's so streaky you never know if you'll get Good Rice or Bad Rice. Him hitting shots will force the zone to rotate toward him faster and open up others. Would also be a great game for Carey to find his stroke. With quick ball movement he could get some open shots off Cuse rotating fast toward Rice. Also would love to see Aminu show a willingness today to dish out to the 3 off some of his drives. He's too good and too determined to drive for that zone to keep him from getting inside, but instead of forcing it up when they collapse on him, he could do some damage by dishing it back out to the 3. In particular getting it out to Rice with his quick release could destroy that zone. Missed 2 on the first possession. Not a good start. Of course in my endless Hoya optimism, I still think he's hitting the next. Why do you do this to me Hoya Blue glasses?

Man Wilson looks like we just looked for a tall kid on campus. Good positioning though so far.

Aminu is playing like a selfish freshman. He had open man for an easy basket. Needs to wake up.

Or maybe don't attempt a 35 foot runner. Yup, he took no shots like that against UMBC and it showed At no level of basketball is that acceptable. You'd be subbed out of a CYO game for that shot. Either doesn't know the game or just doesn't care to play it in a team way. Throw it up there if it's going in but you have to understand how to play on a team.

Not a good shot, particularly when Rice shoots best when he is set. But, runner, I know you played, but you don't seem to know what on earth a runner is.

I feel like announcers force as much nostalgia as possible into these matchups. One loose ball and suddenly this has an “old time Big East feel”?

Good start. They have nobody that can break us down and get our defense chasing.

Aminu had Rice wide open again on that awful attempt to drop it down to Wilson

He was running/lunging towards the hoop on that shot to the point where I think he may have thought the shot clock was about to expire. The one off the rebound he had his feet set but that original one was out of control.

Not 35 feet and I really understand how you were a single digit scorer. Your understanding of the court or foolish over exaggerations are not remotely funny.
