Fail. Weak excuse, you don't need me to pay for your guilty pleasures. I'll be there, and traveling from afar <on my own dime> to do so. I drove from OKC to Cali to watch "MY HOYAS" good or bad and I know I spent more than $2K but I hold the course. Are you going to the UMBC game?

I really do not relish the idea of starting over again, nor do I feel that Georgetown is well equipped to find a replacement, but I don't think the situation will be tenable by March if things don't improve. These sort of things tend to snowball. As you recall, two of the major tipping points for JT3 were Waters' decommitment, combined with Trey Mourning making noise about transferring. No inside information here, but I would not confuse cause with proximity. The Board of Directors was not checking Tremont Waters' recruiting status or why Trey Mourning was unhappy when it had to sign off on eating two years of JT III's salary. These were contemporary events but likely not a cause to that kind of financial decision.

I just don’t see the fan base ever doing that to Ewing. If it ever came to that….it would be a very, very sad day. Please Georgetown….don’t ever let it come to that.

I really don't like "Fire" chants. It's just not my style for any coach. Part of the problem, though, is that I am skeptical that Georgetown would act without that type of pressure. So, while I'd never do it myself, I can see why other people would. As far as booing, you cannot continuously lay eggs, and not expect fans to react. I think it's abundantly clear that IF Ewing gets booed, it will be because of his coaching performance and will have nothing to do with his playing days. But, I agree that it would be a sad day.

I agree it would be a sad day but ignoring reality and acting like everything is okay is how you drive teams into the ground and I am really afraid that another implosion and the firing of Ewing could result in really dark days following it

There won’t be enough people at our games to make a chant audible anyways. Actually, in a desolate and empty arena the sound of only one or a few fans can resonate very loudly. That being said, it is not likely to happen as the "mob psychology" effect, which cloaks the heckler(s) in anonymity, is not present. I am not a fan of "fire the coach" chants. I think more effective is a conscious decision to decline Hoop Club contributions and a refuse to renew season tickets is a better way to make one's dissatisfaction known. Additionally, I know for a fact a large contributor to the basketball program (>$10,000) wrote a letter to Jack DeGioia expressing his dissatisfaction with the direction the program was headed during the last year of JT III's tenure. Whether that had any impact on his firing, IDK.

During the last days of JTIII, there were still a meaningful number of fans who cared enough about the program to show up and boo him. If this season plays out as it appears it might - there are going to be more opposing fans than Hoya fans at most Big East games, and we are going to be getting 3000 fans at BE games. There won't be booing - there will be cheering for the opponent, or just no crowd noise at all. This should motivate the administration even more than booing fans - at least the booing fans care. We are down to a very, very small group of fans that still care enough about this program to boo the coach.

There should be a way to fill the empty rows closer to the court so the tv angle doesn’t show all those empty seats (i.e., grab any empty seat after the first tv time-out). It’s bad enough when the student section behind the basket only has three rows occupied. It’s such an unattractive look when trying to recruit top prospects.

W are on Plan D at center (A-Q, B-Tre, C-Tim) and you guys expect better than this? So when will Ewing be accountable for the results? Does he only get judged when all is perfect? No transfers, no injuries, the right blend of experience on the team...etc - those ideal conditions may never arrive all at the same time... I don’t blame Ewing for Q leaving. I don’t blame Ewing for whatever Tre did. I don’t blame Ewing for Tim’s injury. Literally, only an idiot would think he should be held accountable for these things. PROGRESS IS NEVER LINEAR. We have a young, inexperienced and talented team. Stand back from ledge and let him do his job. Every game is significantly increasing the experience of the group.

The problem with any glass half full optimism about experience and progress is that there has been no continuity. We could dismiss our best player transferring every year as "bad luck", but does anyone seriously believe if the team finishes last in the Big East that guys are going to stick around for Ewing's sake? That top grad transfers are going to want to play here?
We could discuss ad nauseam the 2020 recruiting class failures and scheme deficiencies. I guess many of us don't see an obvious answer for how the program gets out of its current rut. People have been patient for a long time.

Serious question...you say we have a "young, inexperienced and TALENTED team." How do you know its talented? I have seen games against several bad teams this year, and we have not ,to my eyes, appeared to be significantly more talented than any of them. Other than Aminu, none of our players have looked like they are at another level than these low to mid major teams we've faced. Can Ryan develop into a solid Big East player...maybe. Riley can really jump, for sure, but he is far from a sure thing. IS having a few young players who MIGHT have potential to be Big East level players , a team loaded with talent?

We need to see progress, and soon. No one is expecting much right now, and it will not take much for the few remaining diehards to re-engage with this coach and program. While some may truly have an agenda to see the coach fired, I think that most of us just want to have a sense of hope that this team and this program are headed in the right direction.
Progress may not be linear, but it should still be evident. Players come and go, but certain constants can remain. Recruit to a system or change the system to fit the recruits. Develop an identity--Big John's teams had one. JT III's teams had the Princeton offense, however much some of us hated it. What's this program's identity now?
We suffer in half court defense, but this team more than any of Ewing's predecessor teams has the athletes to trap and press and the numbers in the rotation to do that for more than a few minutes. Why wait to press until the last minutes when the game is out of reach? Don't stop the driving into the lane by Harris and Aminu but emphasize the kick out pass. Let Ryan take some shots from several feet out to make his man move out to defend him and open up the lane. Think that we have players who can hit the open shot from deep if they get the ball without a defender in their face.

There was a sequence midway through the second half where there was a 50/50 loose ball. Gamecocks were up by a dozen, yet they had multiple players dive for the ball while we watched. It’s moments like this that bothers me the most. I wish we could bottle Aminu’s grit and give some to the others.

You must be watching different games and a different coach than me. What I see is an unequivocal debacle in progress. And as I have said many times, 1 or 2 or maybe even 3 defections/dismissals, and you say bad luck. Every single season and it's called a trend. How many red flags do you need to see? How many free passes does one coach receive?

Of course, if Tre King did something stupid, I do not blame Ewing. But, he also doesn't get a free pass. ___ I do not "blame" Ewing, but as the coach and CEO of the program, I hold him responsible for: - Losing multiple guys from our roster, all of whom Ewing recruited (except Walker), and many of whom started and got all the minutes they could ask for: - Antwan Walker - Sodom - McClung - Leblanc - Akinjo - Gardner - Jalen Harris - Wahab - Sibley In isolation, one can make excuses for individual examples. For example, Ewing didn't make Sodom or Leblanc do stupid things, but in the aggregate, Ewing is responsible for assembling a roster and personalities that work. And, despite many of these guys getting ample playing time, many these guys simply did not buy into what Ewing was selling once they got onto campus. - Losing a few players before they even enrolled or played a game for us: - Terrence Williams - Tre King Same as above. These things happen, but in the context of roster upheaval, they are worse. - Failing to create a coherent and effective defensive scheme over 5 seasons. - Failing to make the adjustments to his assistants and staff that should have been made in light of the aforementioned defensive failures. - Failing to teach and/or instruct our guys on basic principles on defense and offense that result in a game like yesterday where we give up 9 dunks. - Failing to acknowledge his role in these failures. - Failing to improve the program above the level it was at when he took over 4.5 years ago. Again, in isolation one can excuse some of these items, but in the aggregate, I do hold Ewing responsible for not getting it done.

The coach is being paid way too much to coast along. We are picked to finish 10th in the league while our coach pockets a top-20 NCAA salary. Plus, we are not going to generate ticket sales.
