Just a really, really bad loss, on national TV no less. A significant setback for this program and it may not be back here soon.
Watching Georgetown lacrosse is like watching the Toronto Maple Leafs when it comes to the post-season.

You only get so many chances to make a deep run in the NCAAs. Second seed and playing at home, horrific loss for the program. Big East Tournament titles are meaningless. Need to perform on the big stage for the program to gain credibility.

Disappointing as hell. Writing was on the wall with the Villanova game, where they didn't look great. Multiple grad transfers and multiple experienced seniors on the team. Four first-team All-Americans. Really no excuse.

My grandsons played D3 lacrosse. They've been watching Georgetown for the past few years and were shocked by the loss. However, they are beginning to think the Big East is highly overrated and after watching the near fold against Nova and the complete fold against Delaware I tend to agree. Also, let's not forget how they were mauled by UVA last year. Losing early may have saved them a similar embarrassment later in the tourney.

The Big East isn't over-rated because I don't think anyone who follows lacrosse actually thought the Big East was all that strong. Villanova was Ok and Marquette mediocre; with Denver down, it really was just the Hoyas this year. This was a good Hoyas team with some really solid players this year. I don't think they would have been mauled by anyone except, quite possibly, the Terps. Just a bad way to end the year. Like I said, with all the senior and grad players, it shouldn't have happened. Kind of interesting that the the Ivies, without all of the grad transfers, had 6 teams in the tournament and 4 are still alive. Was wondering if it means something in terms of team cohesiveness, etc. Then again, Maryland's roster has a ton of grad transfers. Who knows...

Plus, we were playing Delaware at home. Didn’t the Ivies miss a season due to Covid?

Upping his game on a couple of levels, Syracuse AA Tucker Dordevic will be joining the Hoyas next year. He has played both Midfield and Attack but is expected to be more of an Attack man at Georgetown. This, in addition to previous portal players Hincks Dartmouth Goalie, Minicus Colgate Attack, Kelly UNC Attack continues Georgetown’s success in that area.

Add UNC attack man Nicky Solomon to the list.

Hoyas were a very good team this year. for whatever reason they were not playing as well at end of the season. struggling against nova was not a good indicator and they got off to a really slow start against Delaware (they looked flat to start the game). they still could have beaten delaware - the turnovers were a real issue obviously - particularly the last one after the TO with under a minute and game tied(one of the worst unforced errors at crunch time i have ever seen in a lax game)- we threw the ball away on an uncontested pass - really bad/inexcusable execution. lots of talent returnong and some solid transfers coming. we'll be good next year - hopefully mentally tougher
