Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too interesting late, as Villanova cut it to 14-12, but Hoyas hold on from there to make it four in a row. On to the NCAA tournament.

The veteran core of the Georgetown men’s lacrosse team arrived on campus looking to help turn around a program mired in mediocrity — in its best moments — for the previous decade. Saturday’s 14-12 defeat of Villanova at Cooper Field ensures those players will leave the program without having lost a Big East Conference tournament game in their careers. www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/05/07/georgetown-mens-lacrosse-big-east-championship/

Georgetown is such a lacrosse school that we've got *two* men's teams posting dubs on the same day
Unfortunately, they lost the final four match...pretty quick turnaround between games at this level!

As expected, Hoyas are the national #2 seed - their highest ever. They will take on the winner of a play-in game between Robert Morris and Delaware.
Quarterfinal matchup would be again the winner of #Cornell and Ohio State.
Penn gets the #3 seed thanks to their winning the Ivy League tournament. In retrospect, I feel extremely lucky to have been able to attend that Hoyas@Quakers showdown at Franklin Field this season. It certainly felt like an underrated win at the time... and now we have final confirmation.
6 Ivies make the tournament. No Duke, no Notre Dame. LMAO. Sucks to suck ACC.

Not a bad set up for a deep run. Obviously, they will need to play a lot better than they did against Nova (for the last 3 quarters, at least) if they want to make that deep run. Surprisingly, that UPenn win was the only win the Hoyas had against a tournament team. ND fans going crazy. Extolling the wins over Duke and UNC. Of course, Duke and UNC did not make the tournament this year!

Can’t complain about the draw other than potentially having to play a road game against a lower seed (OSU). Still rather be here than on the other side. Let’s recognize that we have a coach who gets results and sweeps the Big East and treat him as well (OK, maybe not AS well) as one who goes 0 for it. We want to hold on to this guy for a long time!

Successful GU coaches have been hired from elsewhere, see mens basketball, soccer and lacrosse.

Surprisingly, that UPenn win was the only win the Hoyas had against a tournament team. Not quite. The Hoyas also won a road game at Richmond, who coincidentally is Penn's first-round opponent.

Mr. Bowen seems like he's going to do great things out in the world, if he's able to bring this kind of attitude - to match his smarts and work ethic - wherever he goes in the realm of high finance and beyond.
