I think you go after Arcidiacano and get him into foul trouble. Just keep attacking him.

They have no depth. Let’s get them in foul trouble. Hope Wright doesn’t have his way with the refs tomorrow. This is key. Pat has to work the refs just as hard as Wright.

Well, we will learn if we can beat an under-manned Nova squad. This is the downside of Wright’s strategy of not filling all your scholarships www.sports-reference.com/cbb/schools/villanova/2021.htmlLook at that roster. Wright has 8 Top 75 RSCI players out of high school and 6 are available tomorrow. Curiously, Gillespie and Daniels are not in that group, were not Top 100 out of high school, but are two of Nova's best players.

Make the player who is least likely to be ready for prime time beat us, and be ready to adjust just in case he's tomorrow's SRD who goes off against us.

Now that’s just disrespectful. Yea I was surprised so high. My guess was going to be -6 or -7 Healthy Nova would’ve been about -12.5. Books are notoriously bad about adjusting for college injuries so this doesn’t surprise me.

Rebounding and turnovers as always. Nova might be short two guards, but we're still going to have to keep the turnover battle close here either by limiting our own careless unforced turnovers or amping up the pressure on their inexperienced guards (dare we even show an early press to throw them off balance?) to create our own. And again, we are going to have to be cognizant of the Nova bigs' tendencies to try to tap missed shots out for offensive rebounds. Bigs have to box out and grab the ball with both hands. Guards have to be aware the tips are coming.
A dark horse X-factor for Nova tomorrow will be Brandon Slater. Hasn't done much against us, but caught a couple of Nova games since our 2nd game vs. them and have come away impressed by his play and athleticism. The minutes are starting to go up (22 mpg in the last 7) and a couple numbers jump out during this recent stretch (44% from 3, 2.0 spg). Have to imagine his level of responsibility is only going to grow with the injuries.
More than anything, tomorrow is a mental battle for our team. They've gone toe-to-toe with Nova twice and realistically could have won both games. Can they maintain composure when Nova tightens the clamps and makes things tough on the key possessions? I do think that, although limited, to a certain extent this team has learned what it takes to win in close and late situations (Prov, SHU, Xavier). One of the key next steps for this team is to more consistently execute and avoid panicking during these critical stretches of the game. Tomorrow presents a great opportunity to prove they're ready to take that step.

I'm excited to see Jamarko in the 2nd round of the BET. I have a feeling that getting past today's game will be huge for his confidence, he just needs to let the shots fly when they are there.

Hopefully he loosens up a bit on offense. Let that open 3 fly! He did seem very reluctant to shoot open jumpers today. But the drives did help get MU get into foul trouble - the 3rd on Garcia late in 1st half was particularly helpful.

Why is this game a noon start? If it was at least 1pm I would get to see the 2nd half. Now I'm going to have to follow on the computer... smh

Don’t understand why we get less than 24 hours to recover but Butler and DePaul get a full 24 hours.
