I think we can beat Providence without Mac, I am just not sure at all that we can beat them with only 6 players. If that makes any sense... I can see Gtown beating PC with 6 players but Mac needs to be one of those players in my view, the team will be much easier to guard without his ability to drive the ball...

GAMEDAY!!!!
BE Season is upon us! We've found the formula to success and need to keep exploiting it: teamwork and effort. Play as a team, crisp passes, show passion and effort, and REBOUND! While this is a beatable Providence team, we cannot underestimate anyone in conference play. Teams know each other, coaches know tendencies, and the intensity is always higher. While there was an off-season emphasis on conditioning, a 7 man rotation is going to wear down. We need to keep up the intensity and stay mentally focused even when we are worn down at the end of the games. The rest of the BE is doubting us and our depth, so now it's time to prove them wrong on the court.
GO HOYAS!

I will be interested to see defensive match-ups tonight.
The no brainer is Yurt on Watson.
I speculate we will see alot of ..
Pipkins (5'11") vs. Mac (6'2")...which should be interesting given the MSG media day backstory. We know Mac can handle the match-up pressure, but can Pipkens Duke (6'5") vs. Allen (6'3") AJ Reeves (6'6") vs. Pickett (6'8") - protects Pickett a bit from fouls and puts Mosely on their best offensive weapon Diallo (6'7") vs. Mosely (6'3") - let the DPOY campaign begin tonight.
Let Diallo have all the 3s he wants (21.4%). Just keep him off the line and don't let him play in transition.
I think Mosely is up to the challange. Hopefully, tonight will not be the night that Providence decides to starting hitting their shots. Season to date, they shoot 32.6% 3P% and 45.6 2P%

Pipkins will more than likely play Allen...

Can anyone living outside the US provide any tips on how to stream the game? The Fox sports app would not let me watch the American game because I am outside the US, so assume it will be the same today.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a possession or two when they square off when Mac was on O. I think Pipkens has that big an ego...unjustified.

Look who their opponents were in those early November games. Irrelevant. You said Prov has to keep game in 60s to win but data shows if game is in 60s they lose. What's the word on Mac? OK to play?

Th regular season starts! Every game will be an absolute battle. On paper, this should be the most winnable away conference game. KenPom even forecasts a one point win. We certainly need to convert with both @seton Hall and @ Villanova on the early season horizon. From a quick scan of their message board, Providence is in the midst of a dysfunctional season in which the whole is less than the sum of their parts. The mood looks oddly familiar. Here is to hoping those days are over. The fans are in open revolt against the staff and almost every player. Hopefully Mac is good to go and available to torch Pipkens. Can’t wait.

Pickett. If you are reading this, we need you. You need to step up as we've seen you in the past. Love your length and better defense and that sweet 3 pointer!
