Selfish play today? You are so clueless. The narrative every game thread is pretty much the same... hard to take it serious at this point. 1. Officials are giving Georgetown every call. 2. Opponents best player isn't playing. 3. Georgetown's defense is terrible but it doesn't matter cus the opponent is having an off shooting night. 4. I guess tonight since 2 guys scored the bulk of the points, we can add selfish play to the list. At this point we would be 0-12 if weren't so lucky every game. You watched a different team and game than I did!

Damn, I wish we were playing a top ten team (Maryland?) next week instead of American. I want to believe we are a 11-7 (12-6?) BE team this year but just have doubts that only a test against a top opponent will erase. I don't understand posts like this. Its about results. I could better understand your desire to play a Maryland if you thought the team needed a stronger tuneup for the BE. But your craving for such a game has nothing to do about the Hoyas and everything to do about raising your self doubt. Well, your doubts and or fears will either be confirmed or dispelled in the coming weeks when it really starts to matter. So relax because its all out of our control. Playing another tough OOC game and beating that opponent will mean relatively little if we struggle mightily going forward in the Big East, and next to nothing if we had lost to that OOC team and went on to perform splendidly in conference play. What's not to understand? We are beating the heck out of our cupcakes and getting everyone, me especially, very excited. But I'm sure all of us would feel better about this team if we had beaten Kansas by one today rather than Samford by 30. Getting back to my post on another thread, quoting the Shirelles, I want to know if this is just a moments pleasure or a lasting treasure. Sure, a month from now we'll know a lot more. But 4 months from now the season will be over. And 10 years from now I'll probably be dead.

We are playing two good halves of basketball, passing with purpose and not playing down to competition- it’s been a while.

Especially since the group of 11 that preceded them had a good deal of more (additional) talent. Looks to me like the BE will be a real night in night out rock fight. Thing is, I for one feel that this group of 7 can beat any team in the league on any night- VU, SHU, XU. They could also lose to any team, any night. If they stay healthy, this team could do some amazing things and it’s going to be fun as a fan.

Cue the theme music! Someone should tell the band to learn that one. It's awesome. But perhaps a slight to the rest of the guys? Love the nickname and the music would fit perfectly. Good work SS!

The game film will definitely have things to watch and work on as is the case with every game. Number one on the list, IMO, is 3 defense. But I feel like we've seen good 3 D when needed in past games. My take-away is that it was nice to hammer a team that the Hoyas should hammer. Especially given the time of year, it would have been exceedingly easy to mentally check out.
I'm looking for Jamorko to have a 25+ point game sooner than later.
I really admire how this group has come together after all of the craziness. We have ourselves a TEAM. Seeing the bench going nuts when they had 6/7 chances to hit the 100 mark and Mac finding Igohoefe to congratulate him on his block at the buzzer is the kind of stuff you see with teams that have bought in and look out for one another. For all they've lost in terms of depth, they've gained unity and a chip on their shoulder.
I hope the team and coaches, while it's a quick turnaround, have a bit of time with their families and loved ones and enjoy the holidays. Hoya Saxa!

No slight intended and don't think any team members would feel slighted. From all indications, the team seems united after the recent defections. As for the theme music, not certain the younger Hoyas would understand the dated cultural reference!😁😁 Remember Reggie and the Miracles - pretty certain no one felt slighted. In fact, Big John said without Reggie, there would be no miracles! "Reggie Williams," Thompson said. "I call this team, 'Reggie and the Miracles.' When Reggie's not out there, the miracles don't happen."

Not holding my breath but it would be nice if one more forwards could arrive/emerge in the next few weeks. It's not the 7 man rotation that is the issue, but the composition of that rotation, which is guard heavy. One injury or foul trouble or just an off night by Pickett and Yurtseven and this team is in trouble.
The BE is loaded this year. I cannot identify a sure win or loss for the Hoyas in any game. Providence hammers Texas, St. Johns beats Arizona, and Butler, Creighton, DePaul, Marquette each continue to play at a high level. Each game is going to be a challenge and the Hoyas will be among a pack of 6-7 that will not have any margin for error.
Fans can talk about addition by subtraction all they want, and I cannot deny that the team is playing much better today than a month ago, but at some point you just need more bodies, particularly at certain positions. Relying upon Wahab as the 7th man in this rotation is very risky as this kid showed yesterday with understandable growing pains leading to 6 minutes of action and 5 fouls. Might survive that at the guard position but cannot afford that at the 3-5 when you start playing against the big boys every week.

You play with what you have. The calvary is already there. No new transfers coming in 2019-2020. Be thankful for what we have. Hopefully no injuries, Mosely will continue to play big and the Coaches continue to have them prepared for the next game. Perhaps we have the next Michael Graham on the bench. Still mad I didn't recognize him yesterday (the more I think about it the madder I get about 1985).

My feeling is that one of the 3 wings/forwards might come back to the team with their head down and beg to be accepted back on to the team. Just like in the Hoosiers movie.

I would open secret talks with LeBlanc, Gardner, and Alexander to try and smooth things over.

I would open secret talks with LeBlanc, Gardner, and Alexander to try and smooth things over. I agree I’d feel so much better if we had one more solid body. Can you imagine this team with last year’s Leblanc? That being said we have no way of quantifying what that would do to the chemistry. I think it’s highly unlikely any of these guys returns. Really the only one I’d think there’s any chance is Gardner, and even that I think is a pipe dream.

Gardner please. Would be a great help for multiple years and would be the least disruptive to the good chemistry we have now.

Was great to see the team in person. Didn’t think it was their best game and they still won big.
Excited to finish out the OOC and start on BE

I too have been having those dreams of a return or two...... Speaking of “Reggie and the Miracles”, can anyone here name them ( the Miracles) without research that is? I sure can’t.

I believe Charles Smith and Jaren Jackson were on that team? I can't remember what year Perry McDonald graduated?

My favorite Hoya team ever. Mark Tillmon and Dwayne Bryant were freshman guards. Charles Smith emerged out of nowhere as a force in the latter part of the year. Perry McDonald saw the most minutes at center at 6-4.Jonathon Edwards, Sam Jefferson (I think), Bobby Winston (maybe).
