Expected easy win. It may be because of the bad opponents but the offense the last 2 games hasn’t been as good as those previous 3 games. There were a lot of guys hunting their own shots and playing selfish today. He defense today was quite bad but it didn’t matter.

That game was actually a joy to watch. It’s kind of nice to feel like a 20 point lead isn’t continually on the verge of being squandered. Yeah, considering our short roster right now and the lid on the basket in the first half when we got almost any shot we wanted, I really think that was an excellent win. Onward, Hoyas!

Michael Graham sighting!!! Smiling and cuddling with a little one. It is going to ruin his rep. Wow, I missed that was Graham. I just thought it was a cute little girl. Good eyes!

I will agree with you that the offensive and defensive execution weren't as sharp today but I didn't see the selfish play you're seeing. We had 20 assists, and I felt like after the first few minutes the ball moved really well.

Should see a slight bump in KenPom ratings, as this was projected as an 89-72 win.

Great win to blow out team you are supposed to. On a side note I live in RI at the PC game Will Baker seems very slow and non athletic. Rankings mean nothing

I didnt want to start replying on the article thread, so I'm replying here - SirSaxa's comment in regards to the Post-Game presser he linked, is spot on. Obviously winning is fun, breeds happiness, and builds chemistry. But that last 2 minute back and forth, on the final question of the presser, really is a microcosm of where this team is right now. Ewing clapping playfully at Macs career best rebounding performance that has clearly been harped on to Mac in practice. Mac with the Golly Gee, Aw Shucks retort and grin as the coachable, try-hard player he is. And Yurt laughing and then speaking up about the help Macs rebounding brings. It's a team that has gelled after adversity. Just stay healthy. And ride the wave.

Damn, I wish we were playing a top ten team (Maryland?) next week instead of American. I want to believe we are a 11-7 (12-6?) BE team this year but just have doubts that only a test against a top opponent will erase.

Face it we need Mac on the floor as much as possible. Even when he screws up he brings an excitement to the game and gets everyone else on the floor juiced. Plus he is a threat and that forces opponents to double team him and open up the floor to other players. Blair especially should buy his beer - when they are old enough to drink.

In most ways this game wasn't much of a challenge. Even still, the day after exams, the guys played well even if it took time time to get shots in the basket. They didn't force, they just kept getting good shots. Samford also has a very good press and a guard that leads the nation in steals. 1st half we turned the ball over too much but in the second we took care of the ball and beat their press. Proud of Yurt for dominating a game he should have...he won't always have those numbers but teams will have to account for him which frees up the rest.

At this point, opposing coaches must be chomping at the bit to find out where JA transfers so they can try to get them on the their schedule.

I could better understand your desire to play a Maryland if you thought the team needed a stronger tuneup for the BE. But your craving for such a game has nothing to do about the Hoyas and everything to do about raising your self doubt. Well, your doubts and or fears will either be confirmed or dispelled in the coming weeks when it really starts to matter. So relax because its all out of our control. Playing another tough OOC game and beating that opponent will mean relatively little if we struggle mightily going forward in the Big East, and next to nothing if we had lost to that OOC team and went on to perform splendidly in conference play.

Can't recall the last time the Hoyas pretty much breezed in back-top-back outings against the so-called easy part of their early At-Home schedule. For what seems to be at least six years the Hoyas played two games against mid-level competition in which the outcome was never in doubt and the dudes at the end of the bench got to see time on the court.
Remember the talk about how will this team fare when those unrealistic three-point shooting percentages don't take place? Well, today you saw the blueprint of how the Hoyas can and need to play when such outcomes occur. Out of the gate the Hoyas appeared sluggish following a week of exams but outside of the period played before the first official timeout, this game was not really close, and that's without the Hoyas looking as sharp. That's a very good sign to me. The team understands how it wants to play on both sides of the ball heading into Big East play and it may have the best one-two punch in the conference. If that third guy (Pickett) could be more consistent and aggressive to help take that load off the Big Two, if Jagan or Allen could step up in any given game with outside shooting, if Blair can continue to provide scoring off the bench and if most importantly the team doesn't suffer anymore personnel losses (injuries, grades, transfers, etc) the remaining way this squad could surprise.

The narrative every game thread is pretty much the same... hard to take it serious at this point. 1. Officials are giving Georgetown every call. 2. Opponents best player isn't playing. 3. Georgetown's defense is terrible but it doesn't matter cus the opponent is having an off shooting night. 4. I guess tonight since 2 guys scored the bulk of the points, we can add selfish play to the list. At this point we would be 0-12 if weren't so lucky every game.
