he's become one of the most indispensable players on the team. Ewing deserves a ton of credit for Mosely's development and it's a beautiful thing to see. Also thinking the doctors who have fixed his shoulder twice and Mosely says this it has felt since high school. He [Ewing] showed trust in him time and time again in the face of many decisions that had dismal results. Although he showed that trust, I hated to outcomes, Jagan had the cajones to try to win. He did that time and time again. But look at him now. He was shooting his jumper trusting that it would go in. I was happy they did--for us and him!

On watching the replay I was impressed with the ball movement. Everybody contributed some in big ways, some in smaller ways. And Y'7 should get his hair cut. He was fixing his hair in a man bun during play, which caused him to come out of the flow of the game.

yurt may have the worst hands of any big we've had in a long time Hopkins It actually is an interesting thing. In some respects, he has great hands. He catches entry post passes down low really well and catches dishes and dimes in traffic really well. He also has soft touch when shooting and normally is a sure rebounder. But it’s his handling of the ball in traffic and against double teams that gets him in trouble. That’s why I think it’s an awareness problem more than a hands problem. Good thing, if I’m right, is that it’s coachable rather than an innate limitation.

The reaction to one game by Omer - against a defense notorious for making really good opponents look horrible in ways they have never looked bad before - is curious. I can understand the game thread, as it was clear Omer's struggled to get shots up in ways we hadn't seen all year, but this is crazy. Hopkins - whose name keeps showing up in various posts recently - never averaged more than 6 points a game for Georgetown, had a career high of 15, and wasn't an offensive threat in his entire time at Georgetown. Yurt has scored more than 15 points in 7 of the Hoyas nine games this year, including 21 against Duke in only 24 minutes where he was eating them alive.
I remember watching an admittedly better Syracuse team swallow Indiana's Cody Zeller whole in the 2013 NCAA tournament. It was like Zeller had never caught a ball in traffic before. He is now averaging double figures in the NBA. All to say that Cuse's defense is known for the incongruous performances otherwise solid performers put in. Clearly Yurt had issues at the rim for much of yesterday. I am not sure how much to project those issues from what is otherwise a guy having a terrific year.

The fanbase on this board gets down on every center at one time or another, with one semi-constant early complaint being that the center in question has "bad hands." Nothing new to see here.

Happy that Boeheim has Ewing's back but it is time to let it go with respect to Akinjo. Have not read or heard one negative comment from him since leaving and aside from his "uncle" it's been radio silence. This kid is very talented. He,along with McClung and LeBlanc, helped the Hoyas win several games and brought the program back to relevance last year. He and McClung together are a bad fit and at times both were both selfishly hunting shots--maybe the blame for that should be on the coaching staff that recruited two players with the same ball dominant tendencies and then tried to play them together. It was a mistake and it hurt the games of other players. Akinjo left, McClung stayed and has elevated his game. Let's move on and celebrate the players who stayed rather than making the narrative about those who left.
On another note, this may not be the best Syracuse team but there are 3 kids on that team who can really play and if their 2 bigs develop in the next month this will be a dangerous team. Boeheim's kid is very good and there is no reason to justify putting him in that starting unit.

It's almost like it's difficult having three other large humans swatting at an object you're holding. Syracuse's entire game plan was to take away Omer. They didn't do it. He still went for 19 and 9 and our guards made their open looks. It's great we're playing this competition now so he gets a better sense when not to bring the ball down in traffic. To see a Hopkins reference when we have a center who can operate down low (two actually!) keying our offense in the half court...it's head scratching.

We are seeing passes from this team that we simply have not seen. The pass up the floor. The skip pass. The hockey assist. It is beautiful at times.
Blair had a few great passes to Yurt. Let that sink in.
We still are not over passing though — everybody is willing to take the shot when they have it — and it didn’t result in too many turnovers. This balance is not easy to achieve.
Yurt is so important to this team. He has the potential to dominate offensively and so teams have to pay attention to him. This attention is in part why we have seen so many open perimeter looks.
The entire team is fearless. I was getting tight in the last 7 minutes while sitting on my couch. The guys didn’t. Reflection of Ewing I believe.
Free throw shooting is a huge plus.
The rotation is short now. We may lose a few games because of it. But we may win a few as well. This unit can play, and they will be on the floor 35 minutes a game. Lots of teams only go 7-8 deep. Blair, Wahab and George are competent backups, with Blair and Wahab obviously offering big upside in any single game.
Proud to see Georgetown across the chest of each guy who played for us yesterday. They have been representing themselves and our university well. This group has the chance to make some real history.

On the re-watch, Yurt’s game was better than initially thought.
He had 6 turnovers, but 2 were offensive fouls and 1 was a travel that was really a Syracuse block in an unconventional situation that the refs screwed up.
He had 4 total fouls of which 3 were offensive. 1 was over-the-back on a rebound - ok. The 2nd was while posting up he had a momentary hook which was called. The 3rd was on a screen that looked completely stationary to me.
He missed a contest dunk in the opening minutes which was just unlucky and probably set the tone for the narrative.

I seen a lot of kids sitting behind the GU bench does anybody recognize a future recruit? If so hopefully they will be for 2020. I think I seen Benny Williams behind the Hoya bench. This was a good outing for the Hoya's for sure, because he currently has offers from both us and the Cuse.

Anyone know how to rewatch this game? Forgot to set it on my DVR and can’t seem to find it on any of the apps available as a rewatch It’s super convoluted but here’s the way I was able to rewatch. Sure there was an easier way, but I could t find it. I searched for Georgetown in the Fox Sports Go app (couldn’t find it in Fox Sports app). It located the game. Then when I tried to watch it, it launched the Fox Sports app. The game played. I have access to both through my cable provider. I have no idea why it was so roundabout.
