I do think our offensive rebounding will be key in this one as well. Syracuse is a 300ish defensive rebounding team and we've been absolutely cleaning up the glass. They're missing the traditional length in the frontcourt. Time to make them pay

I'm nervous about this game. Most of it is seeing a Georgetown team that the past two games has really clicked and executing Ewing's game plan with good outside shooting and inside play, which has been a struggle across the team the past two years. But, players are doing what they do best and playing inside their capabilities and their game, which they hadn't done. Keeping the outside shooting going is tough at times, but if many players are getting wide open touches it helps spread the success around.

Not sure if I can wait a week for this game.
Show up with energy, keep moving the ball crisply, and rebound and the game is ours.
We've looked really good against zones this year but Cuse's is always a different beast. Fortunately if we play like the past two games we can beat it in a multitude of ways: shooting over top, dribbling to the FT line and moving the ball, slashing the gaps in the zone, popping to FT line and either shooting, dribbling from there, or passing to an open shooter.

The game watch vs the dreaded Cuse on Saturday will be the first official event of the newly chartered Georgetown Club of Sacramento. So we will be cheering loudly for the Hoyas!!!

last year Akinjo was awful in this game and ended up getting benched for the last 10 minutes. McClung also got yanked around the same time after a couple of bad shots and didn't get back in until the final seconds, despite playing pretty well overall, and I bet Pat wishes he had that decision back in hindsight. I think this year the team will play a lot more cohesively and finish the game much stronger to earn the W.

We should have won the last two Cuse games but for poor 2nd half and late game performances. Hope we can finish the job this time around.

In fairness, Malinowski went crazy over a 5 minute span to get us back to a tie and keep it close after we played some pretty uninspiring ball to start the 2nd half.

Wild horses couldn't keep me away from this game. i loathe every fiber of Syracuse's putrid being. Two comments from Mrs. Dallas (née Longhorn) Hoya at last night's game: - When told who the grey haired GU assistant coach was, she expressed disbelief that he would be allowed on our bench, - In reaction to the 23-3 start against SMU (and the Texas result), she said, "Y'all gotta remember we are a football state."

That's, why the state of Texas has had a team in the football final four much more recently that the basketba - oh wait, never mind😉

Who is going to flash to the middle of their zone on offense? I am thinking Mosely may need to be that guy. I was thinking it could be Pickett but I think we need him at the wing to stretch the defense. Pickett has displayed a really nice turnaround jumper and with his length, he will be perfect for this. Yurt fits the bill too but also Allen's ability to drive to that spot and kick it out to open shooters is exactly the skill set he's shown lately. Mac's ability to get in there and pull up with his explosiveness and soft touch should be effective as well. Can't wait.

I’d like to see coach start with a taller lineup v SU. A front court of Jamarko, Yurt7 and Alexander would fit the bill. I do appreciate what Mosley brings to the table but he should be coming off the bench as he can play 3 spots.

Pound the boards. Syracuse has very little inside strength, and with 4 new starters their zone rebounding has been weak.
Their offense is pretty much exclusively perimeter. Hughes can score at will when he is hot, use Jagan to crowd him and get him off his game. Don't cheat inside on defense, stay out on Little Magoo and Girardi.
Move the ball like we have the last 2 games. Their zone only works when they move in sync, the more the ball moves the better the chance someone fails to rotate quickly enough.
And never ever forget:
SYRACUSE SUCKS!!!!

Rat face Jr and girard aren't nearly as good defensively on the top of the zone as they've had in the past. Contest hughes and RF jr and we should win rather easily. If they're left with a bunch of wide open 3's or we're missing a bunch of 3's then it could be close.

It's going to be close. Hoya-Orange games are always competitive even when one team is down. This is their season, they need a win badly.

Given the leadership Mosely brings to the table (particularly relative to Alexander), I see a 0% chance of this happening.
