I hope this is a turning point. I hope coach realizes what works and what doesn't. The second unit thing doesn't work. Need to have at least 2-3 starters out there at all times. We also need to run an offense and not just pound to yurt or go 1 on 1. We ran some actual sets in the second half and they were effective and we scored. Hopefully we see a tighter rotation and Josh playing more with the starters ( I don't care who starts though I would start him) but he needs to get run with the starters like he did in the second half. glad to see the team not get down. We actually started pretty well and had an 8 point lead until the second unit came in and they went on an 18-2 run. Pretty much this. Leblanc needs to play 30 min, and we need to shorten the rotation. Akinjo, Yurt, and Leblanc each at least 30 min. Mosely, Pickett, Mac and Alexander all 15-25. Allen and Wahab only 5-10 spot minutes. What about Blair?

I really like Gardner and think he will play some real minutes next year, but I don’t think he’s ready yet.

I liked Mcclung bringing the ball up the court (it definitely wasn't him playing point). Seemed like the plan was first pass or handoff was to Akinjo and from there we had some motion going. Especially when Leblanc was in the lineup in this set. I give the coaches credit for a completely new look and scheme on this one specific change..

We already know what we have with the starters, let the second unit continue to play together and take our lumps. I really don’t get this boards reactions to these early season games. I’m fine with sucking in November, just improve in December and start peaking in February. Y’all need to chill.

We got good Mac and the most favorable refs we have had in years. Honestly should’ve won by way more than 8 consider the refs gave us 27 more FT but we just got to take wins where we can get them at this point. Style points are not a concern for this team. The team was aggressive and slashing more, hence why more fouls were called. The team was aggressive on the drives and led to more fouls being called. Missed a few layups, to give more FT's too. Both on should be and one's and shots before an offensive board where the guy was fouled. I can't remember specifics where it just wasn't a foul, but I though there were only one or two really. It was aggressive offense against an aggressive defense, leading to a foul. I disagree but I’m not going to argue. That’s the kind of whistle you are are supposed to get at home vs mid majors.

Did not like the second half rotation, but the final result was good. Keep working, keep tinkering, and keep fighting.

The first two games were for playing around. They have time to play around again when we play UMBC, Samford, and American in December. We don't have a lot of time or opportunity to mess around.

!!! Again, I just do not understand the hatred for Blair. Blair is slumping now but he is probably our best pure shooter from 3. We are gonna need him this season...hopefully he finds his stroke soon...

With the Penn State loss, it’s very important we post some quality wins over this next 6 game stretch ending with Cuse.
I’d treat these contests like conference games, not experimental games. 4-2 would be enough to mask the PSU loss.

From my vantage point in the 200s... it wasn't that the whistles were abnormally favorable to us, it's that Ga State was kinda handsy to begin with, and as the game wore on, they just plain got worn out. Seriously, I think the main reason the Hoyas were able to pull away was sheer exhaustion of the opposition. Every break in play, you saw a lot of hands on knees, heavy breathing, etc., and it showed up in the gameplay with tired reach-ins, short-armed shots, etc. The visitors were definitely the better team over 20 minutes, to Georgetown's discredit. But it was not really sustainable.

I would prefer to stick with him and let him shoot his way out of it. Also, he is another guard- we can never have too much guard depth.

Let’s enjoy the best half of basketball this team has played this year. Focus on the positives: McClung found his shot for the night, at least. Akinjo, Mosley and McCLung handled full court pressure well. Until some carelessness at the end the TOs were not as bad as they have been. Actually saw a couple of Half-court plays run for Akinjo. Also like the small ball line-up and the FT shooting tonight.

I think he could be a solid addition and needs experience, but he needs to be in there with steadier hands.

I want to believe 1- playing this many guys now, helps us later 2- there is method to it all and as the season moves on the rotation will get tightened around our best players.
But it’s frustrating to watch right now. We had a LONG stretch in first half without FG.
I’m a believer - but agree it’s frustrating right now.

I’m not advocating losing games but we only lost one game and it as the a loss that will keep us out of tournament play. Did we lose this game? No. And it would be wonderful if people stop acting as if we had.
