Well I guess most freshmen would be undecided huhn? Thanks! By the way, he looks awfully happy in that picture. He may be happy as can be. I'm not certain anyone can really know except Williams and his family whether he is or not. Most HoyaTalkers see basketball players in a very narrow context and kudos to the young man if he has found a place where he is truly happy, regardless of basketball and court time. Maybe he sees greater horizons for himself?. Well you know here's the thing....everyone is not going to make it into the NBA anyways. Right? I thought about if I were a college kid playing ball for a school but riding the bench could I be happy. I thought about this years ago way before Terrence Williams was even born. I thought about it and said to myself...hell yeah I could! If I could get a degree and possibly set myself up for life, I would be more than happy to ride the pines. The only thing, that I wouldn't like, is getting up early in the morning just like every other teammate and practicing. And also those late night practices. Ugggh! I would have to make the other sacrifices that I wouldn't be so keen on. From that perspective, I would want to be able to play. If I have to put in a lot of energy just like if I were a regular player but yet not play, I don't know if I could live with that. However, I am getting a degree so hmmm....I guess I could live with it. Most kids that play college ball are not going to make the NBA or make a lot of monies anyway (from bouncing the ball) so you got to put it in perspective. Getting a degree is more important than playing in games every night for the school.

He was ranked around 100 in the nation. I don’t see him staying at Michigan four years if he’s glued to the bench. Kids at that level want to play. We’ll see...

Kids who were highly rated in high school can see the writing on the wall in practice and they kind of know what opportunities they will get. If he doesn't see a path to more playing time by early next year, it would not be surprising to see him enter the transfer portal. There are still some kids that stick it out and keep grinding even though they are not getting the PT and stay with the program. Blair is one of those kids who had to think he wasn't going to get as much time as he wanted even after having a strong first year, but stuck around. The situation changed with the other transfers and his patience paid off and now he gets more minutes than he could have ever expected. Unfortunately you do not hear too many of those stories these days.

Watching Michigan play Ohio State and the Wolverines are very impressive. Juwan Howard clearly can recruit and coach. However, Williams gets no run whatsoever. Hasn’t played in this one and his average in the last 6 games is 5 mpg. Gotta think he’s a likely transfer candidate...

If Williams is a transfer candidate as a function of his lack of playing time as a freshman, then I guess all of our frosh are too, huh?

One thing about Williams is they have 2 5 stars coming in at his position. He might be cool with paying his dues but the UM staff might need to have a conversation with him after the season is over.
He would have 4 years left right?

Well one, this would make Howard and Martelli horrible coaches for not playing the freshman, right? Two, Terrence Williams is a 4 star, I don't think Berger or Carey are 4 stars, although I could be wrong.

Hunter Dickinson is a freshman and is playing a ton (just like Dante Harris is for the Hoyas).

We don't need him. Let him go play for Fitzburg University. We got our dawwgs! We absolutely need a 4 man that can stretch the floor. If he decides to transfer Georgetown better be involved. It would be malpractice.

It would be malpractice. With the way Ewing is playing his kids now, I doubt it. Besides, he can't get on the court at Michigan. Why would he get on the floor with us especially if Pickett comes back. Personally, I think he fits better with a Fitzburg University. He can be the man there!

I wouldn't reach out because he decommitted and I don't think he ever really wanted to come here. Short of a illness in the family I doubt he would choose GTown even if he left UM. We really should let this thread die....

And who knows with Terrence, he's probably happy where he is. If he's happy, I'm happy for him. Either way, I am not going to lose any sleep over this guy. I hope we can land a couple of Dematha stars or Paul VI guys. That's what I'm hoping for.

17 year old Williams and 20 year old Williams may have two totally different perspective on playing locally. Not sure I want a kid that spurned us but I’ll allow the staff to make the final decision if it comes to that.

Agree with most everything you said but no reason to believe he wouldn't consider Gtown if he decided to look around.

Age will be a big factor in his decision to move on, someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I think Pickett was originally part of the 2016 class. He moved to 2017 when he decided to prep for a year...
