This kid is the perfect fit if you ask me. Can play the 4 or the 5. Keeps the 2018 class at a reasonable 4 recruits while Patrick works on the 2019 class. Reminds me a lot of Wideman. Won't blow you away but stays within himself. As someone mentioned 18 against us. Has 20+ against Clemson and Va Tech. He showed up in their biggest games in that regard. I don't know if there is really anyone we are dying for in 2018 that we have a reasonable shot and want to commit 4 years too. Agree, I think Femi would be a good fit. Not spectacular, but experienced, can rebound. Can provide some solid minutes at PF/C. 1 year commitment.

Why don't you want?...I know nothing about him (I'm still holding out hope that Derrickson might return...with our guards, I think he get put up big numbers and be 1st team BE...and increase his draft stock)...but 16 pts and almost 8 rbs is pretty impressive and could give us a physical presence inside for a year that we may need if Marcus stays out...

Marcus already signed with an agency. He's gone. No turning back now.

What if Jessie stays in the draft? Here's the thing - he looks more to me more like a fill-in for the 4. This seems a lot more like trying to be able to put something experienced on the floor at the 4. I think we have to cover a lot of bases here because Marcus is gone, Jesse's status is unknown but I bet he'll be back, and who knows if Yurtseven will be eligible.

I think he's a limited player, like most of the grad xfer options (except maybe Wyatt Walker). I'd rather have somebody bigger -- like Trey Porter or Abdul Lewis -- to at least be a minute-eater at the 5. If Jessie stays in, Omer's not eligible, and Trey is somewhere else, well... beggars can't be choosers at that point. But I don't think that's gonna happen.

Think folks need to let go of the Yurt might be availabe. Rule will be GPA at the time of transfer and he said himself he didn't have a 3.0 at that time. There's a better chance that Jessie leaves than Yurt is available. You could ve right but kid has only played Center at the college level and I don't think Pat wants to play two bigs like that on the floor at the same time. This kid only shot 29 percent from 3 last year.

Take all day. Whether Govan comes back or not, we need another warm body in the front court. One year of him coming off the bench grabbing rebounds and giving the starters a break, absolutely worth it.

You never know: “An NCAA committee of athletic directors, conference commissioners and faculty athletic representatives have discussed the possibility of allowing undergraduate transfers with a grade point average of 3.0 or better to play immediately. Yurtseven, who is a Science, Technology and Society major, said with a strong academic finish to the spring semester, and some summer school classes, he could reach that threshold.” link

Add another one to the Walker, LeBlanc, Carter, Mourning sweepstakes with no risk. He's a frontcourt Malinowski.

Only warm body the program needs is a grad transfer.

Perfect for the gaps in the middle of the Syracuse zone. One-yr commit.

He implied that with this semester's grades plus summer courses, he might get there.

If he is doing his summer class work at NC State, he hasn’t transferred yet. His current work is still pre-transfer despite his announced intent.

Imo it would be smart to have this kid just in case....

While that might be true the problem is it's gpa at the point of transfer.... If he is doing his summer class work at NC State, he hasn’t transferred yet. His current work is still pre-transfer despite his announced intent. I doubt he can take classes at NC St this summer at least not on scholarship. If he wants to pay out of his own pocket, yes he can. Otherwise why would NC St provide him that opportunity on scholarship. Also if he does take classes their on scholarship during the summer he would count as a scholarshiped player until he officially transferred. I don't see why Keats would do that... I agree with YaBoy. It's a pipe dream that Yurt7 will be eligible next season. He already stated he doesn't have the 3.0 and I still doubt the rule will be passed at least not as currently constructed. Also if Govan comes back (which I suspect), Yurt7 for the 19-20 season is better for the program long term. I don't see how he's not taking classes at Georgetown in June after exploring his NBA options...
