Jeff Borzello @jeffborzello Point guard Justin Coleman leaving Samford as a graduate transfer. Averaged 13.5 points and 6.6 assists. This kid is a very interesting option - was originally at Alabama for 2 years (starting 16 games in Tuscaloosa) before transferring to Samford and playing 1 season. So he's a high major athlete with impressive stats and experience, whom Robert Kirby is likely familiar with from his Southern ties. Hope Coach Ewing looks at Coleman very hard. Alabama basketball head coach Anthony Grant picked up a big commitment on Wednesday when the state's top-rated player in the class of 2014 announced his intentions to play college basketball in Tuscaloosa. Wenonah point guard Justin Coleman led his team to 5A state championship this past season. He scored 17 points and added five assists in a 75-60 win over Center Point in Birmingham. Coleman told AL.com that Alabama was the perfect fit. I just made that decision today because I really liked coach (Anthony) Grant and his style and the trust they put in me," Coleman told AL.com. "I feel like it is the right and perfect school for me. tide1029.com/wenonah-point-guard-justin-coleman-commits-to-alabama/

I like this option better than taking a chance on a lower rated kid who you hope can develop into a legit D1 player in a few years. A player like this gives you someone who helps you right away, take a lot of pressure off of McClung, and still leaves an open scholarship for another local point guard in '19 who they are hopefully building a relationship with now.

Jeff Goodman @goodmanespn Fordham’s Joseph Chartouny has received his release and is looking to transfer for his final season, sources told ESPN. Grad transfer, A-10 ROY who averaged in double-figures all three seasons at Fordham. Averaged 12 pts, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in the A-10. Could be a solid one-year pickup if the 2018 recruits we're going after don't materialize. This guy is interesting. 3 year starter at Fordham, from Canada. Averaged 12, 5, 5 and 3.3 steals per game. Doesn’t appear to be a very good shooter, but a guard who can distribute and play defense would be a great addition. Worth a look.

Xavier will probably lose a few more commitments. They have a 7'0 signed from the state of Kentucky. he will probably decommit and follow mack to Louisville and stay closer to home.

This guy would be a great option in the post - 6'10", physically mature, attended Potomac High School. "The loss of the 6-foot-10, 230-pound Porter, who averaged 13.2 points and 6.2 rebounds, dims the 2018-19 outlook for a team that went 25-7 this year and was slated to return a core of three seniors: point guard Ahmad Caver, guard/forward B.J. Stith and Porter. Porter made huge strides in 2017-18 and was expected to be the hub of the offense inside as well as a formidable defensive presence." pilotonline.com/sports/college/old-dominion/article_70c46cd6-32c0-11e8-8c74-6bdfc8cd95c7.html

Don't see Porter as a fit. He was the main inside option last year for ODU, don't think he would take a part time role for his grad year. Decent player, little thin, not a great rebounder, but can score in the low post and block shots. Has some on court maturity issues. I guess if it's just for depth and he wants to come home and play 15 mins per game....

Joe Cremo guard UAlbany. 45% from 3, 17+ points a game. Kid plays with his heart on his sleeve, but not sure he is a Big East level kid.
