I like him a lot & would definitely take him if he wanted to commit now.. The reports on his play this season are very positive..
I get where folks who want "game changers" are coming from but I don't see that happening for the program anytime soon, for now get kids with potential and coach them up..

Can he shoot a jumper to keep defenses honest?

He looks like he could contribute down the road, but not an immediate game changer.

He looks like he could contribute down the road, but not an immediate game changer. I agree that he is not going to show up on day 1 and be a star, but I think he could come in and play significant minutes and play a steady brand of basketball at the point and help shift all the other back court players into positions where they are more comfortable and will have better success. Mosley and Blair need to play off the ball to be successful. He is not the final piece of the puzzle for the program, but he would be a piece that helps move them in the right direction.

Looks super skinny and not explosive. The highlights show a ton of passing and not much shooting or dribbling under pressure. I will reserve judgment.

Like his handle and quickness. Hard to tell about anything defensively, shooting or decision making, but gotta trust the staff thinking this kid can handle the Big East. Running point very well at a major program in Chicago. Gotta love that.
I don't like how people say things about how he isn't the game changer we need etc etc. It is not realistic to think we will go back-back-back years at the bottom of the Big East, make a coaching change to someone with zero recruiting/college experience and suddenly get a bunch of top 50 players year after year.
Not to mention that the way to build a program isn't through one-dones, it's by getting guys like what Pinson could be. come in raw, get bigger and better every year. have a solid 4 year career.
Trust the process ladies and gentlemen.

Being explosive is overrated a lot in my view but it looks to me like he has a good burst.. Gtown needs good passers as much as anything.. His looks, especially in transition are on point..

To me looks like a real solid handle, but the "skinny" part does worry me a little. Seems we've had more than our fair share of guys have just been body slammed by stronger guys over the past few years. Intriguing because he plays for a real good team and seems to be blossoming, though. If his ball handling trumps strength need, then OK.

Ball handler, plays point guard for a big program, sign him up. I do not understand this expectation that the Hoyas are even in the running for "game changers". That is obviously not Pat's main strategy, he has noted it will be a long steady climb and will not happen overnight. He passed on a top 50 in Tucker that he must have deemed not worth the drama/headache.
Coach Ewing has a vision and I am going to give it a chance. No need to build this program via elite recruits - we have never had better chemistry than that 2007 team of Hibbert, John Wallace, Green, Pat Ewing Jr, Jessie Sapp, etc. Very few were considered game changing talents at the time of recruitment.
Looks like Pinson is a late bloomer, so I would assume he will drag out his recruitment as more Power 5 teams make offers. Hopefully, he will see the obvious hole we have in the backcourt and the appeal of playing time will help.

Just finished watching the clips above plus extra clips in his YouTube vine at Baylor Classic and Swish N Dish games and I am sold. Kid has great court vision, can get to the basket and can distribute to open teammates. Young man has had a late growth spurt it seems from 4’11” to now 6’2” therefore may have an inch or two left to go. Love the part where he says he has always had to prove himself, coaches putting him on the B team and he having to work his way up to A team because they did not recognize what he could do. Already has the old Hoya trait of a “ chip on the shoulder”. Just the pg Patrick needs to show the BE and the rest of college B.B. that the Hoyas are back. Young man believes he can get to the NBA but knows it’s going to take hard work to get there. I assume he means both on the court and in the class room. What better way to get there than to learn under a coach who has been there and coached a Kemba Walker, who is about his size. This young man and McClung would make a dynamic pair at Georgetown for the next four years, if they don’t explode and lead the Hoyas to the national title in two years.😉 Come on young man and sign with the Hoyas. Your moniker the “ X-Factor” is ready for this board.
