I've been kinda interested in this kid myself, I think he could be a good backup to Mac but I'm not real sure about his shooting. He looks like he shots the ball from his chest, not from eye/head level but he's a tough kid for his size.

basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/ars-rescue-rooter-national-hoopfest-bossi-s-saturday-takeawaysSound the late-bloomer alert on Chicago (Ill.) Simeon point guard Xavier Pinson. A one time Kent State commitment, Pinson is a long, quick and athletic point guard with length and outstanding body control. He's playing more and more at his new school and the added confidence since seeing him in early December is something else. He's got to get stronger and isn't a finished product, but the upside is there to be a very nice player down the road and since his decommitment from Kent State programs like DePaul, Dayton, Missouri, Saint Louis and Georgetown have inquired.

Xavier Pinson might be a Sleeper Late Signee
Pinson puts us in the mind of another Chicago-land guard, Charlie Moore, who signed with California out of high school in 2016. Moore has since transferred to Kansas after a year at Berkley. Pinson will not be as decorated as Moore (Moore was Mr. Basketball in Illinois). Pinson comes off the bench and plays a more limited role than Moore did in high school. However, his style of play and stature are similar. Pinson has a surprising burst with the ball and has a solid mid-range game. He finished with 11 points and four assists versus East Memphis in the semifinal game. Once a Kent State commit, Pinson has since reopened his recruitment and could be a difference maker for a school next fall.

PG with a mid-range sounds nice.

I reiterate, what wrong with Markquis Norwell? Here are two pretty long clips of Nowell this season, if folks really want a pass 1st guard he seems to have turned himself into that type of player.. He looks like a young Jameer Nelson now physique wise but his game is similar also.. Full disclosure I came across the 1st clip while looking at Neftali Alvarez who's a 2018 6-1 lead guard from Miami by way of PR.. I like his game also, his best offer is Wichita State(took an OV there).. Make of the clips what you will but both may be able to help the program in the long & short term..

No question about cojones there. His high school, among several others in Miami, has become a one to two-year stop for PR youth national team-caliber players looking for exposure before college. The complete lack of exposure if they play in PR and not in the States is one of the reasons for the no stars or low stars some of these players get. He has an offer from #5-ranked Wichita State. Btw, in Tremont Waters news, the PR National Team program is looking at him to see if it extends an invitation. I guess there’s a blood connection. Now I understand the no fear aspect and control of his game.

I haven't seen anywhere that lists us as a finalist with Moses Brown--is this talk just because he is available, or is there some information that we have a chance with him? He mentioned that PE has been talking to him lately and that Gtown may get a visit.. There's good info on pages 78 & 79 of this thread.. At this point, Moses Brown remains in the waiting stages, a stance that many elite prospects who do not commit during the Early Signing Period take. Instead of selecting a college now, Brown is better off waiting until the spring to see who leaves the respective programs that continue to remain in contention for his commitment. Speaking of such, Kentucky, Florida State, Maryland and UCLA are the four that have been the most involved dating back to the fall. The Terps were the perceived favorite for him once the FBI sting hit at Louisville leading to Rick Pitino’s ouster. Brown, just as he is now, remained patient, which enabled others to get into the picture. Brown had talked about potentially setting a visit to Duke, though it sounds as if the mutual interest has tapered off some. FSU may be the dark horse and while Maryland would love to nab his commitment as it could potentially lose stud freshman Bruno Fernando earlier than expected to the NBA, a decision is not expected any time soon. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-updates-on-five-stars-simons-brown-langford

He wants to be a OAD. I won't be surprised if he waits until the spring. He wants to see if Kentucky will push for him once their bigs declare, and whether Fernando is OAD at Maryland. We have Govan who could possibly leave. I think the only way we become an option is if other frontcourts remain crowded.

I hope this was a joke because I actually laughed. I actually think Marcelo Perez, #5 for Alvarez's team, was the best player in that game from what I saw. He's more of a wing than a PG which we badly need. I was not that impressed with Alvarez or Nowell in that film although I would take the chance on Nowell between the 2.

Recruitment: Clemson, Georgia Tech, Florida State, N.C. State, North Carolina and Wake Forest among others involved. Why he's trending up: One of four five-star big men left in the class of 2018, Montgomery was once committed to Auburn before backing off in the wake of the federal investigation into college corruption. As a senior he's added some strength and most of all he's left the motor running at a high level all game long. He can face and shoot, he runs the floor, he's the ideal new age big man. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/bossi-s-best-stock-up-10-high-school-seniors-who-ve-impressed-this-seasonE.J. Montgomery has and will face tougher competition than what he saw against Pace Academy, but it was still impressive to see him do what he did. He can score over either shoulder on the block and doesn’t really let contact faze him. He also runs the floor in transition as well as any post player in the country, and he routinely finishes with dunks. Clemson, Georgetown and Georgia watched him Thursday night. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/highlights-of-the-two-holiday-week-events-played-in-the-atlanta-areaBossi: I’m going to go with E.J. Montgomery here. We moved him up to No. 11 and though I’ve not seen him play in person yet this winter, both Corey and Dan have and I trust them that he needs to be moved up. Montgomery has always been one of those guys that I’ve felt is a bit of a tease in that he’ll show you high level of skill and athleticism for a 6-foot-10 player, yet his production often left much to be desired. I hope he’s turned the corner the way that he appears to because if that’s the case he could still have some room to move up even more. basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/rivals150-roundtable-analysts-breakdown-big-movers-decisions?utm_content=buffer844ab&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer
